For a practical setup in 2026, use Windows 10 or 11: although the game’s listed minimum says Windows 7, Steam’s client supports Windows 10 and later.
The Steam listing showed the base game at $7.99 in the US on August 16, 2026; price, tax, currency and discounts vary and can change. There is no verified official standalone Windows download outside Steam.
What is Stacklands?
Stacklands is a single-player village-building game built around cards. Stack villagers with resource cards to gather materials and produce food, combine cards to craft new items, and use Idea Cards to learn recipes. At the end of each Moon, villagers need food. Encounters with enemies trigger automatic combat rather than a conventional manual attack system.
The Steam store describes the core game as having more than 200 cards, more than 60 Ideas, more than 50 quests and 13 card packs. It estimates 5–7 hours of playtime; that is the store’s estimate, not a guaranteed completion time. The game released April 8, 2022, and was developed and published by Sokpop Collective. How to download and install Stacklands on Windows
- Open the official Steam listing.
- Sign in to Steam or create an account. If you do not already own the game, select Add to Cart and complete the purchase.
- Install or open the Steam client for Windows and sign in to the account that owns the game.
- Open Library and select Stacklands.
- Click Install, choose an installation drive and confirm.
- When the download and installation finish, select Play.
Steam lists 200 MB of available storage for the game. Leave more room than that for the Steam client, temporary installation files, updates, saves and any DLC; 200 MB is not a promised total footprint.
Avoid “free full version” sites, torrents, repacked executables and APKs claiming to be the Windows edition. The verified Windows route is Steam; no official standalone .exe download was established.

These are the game’s listed minimums, not a performance guarantee for every PC. Steam says its client supports Windows 10 and later from January 1, 2024. So a Windows 7 PC may meet the game’s stated operating-system minimum but still be unable to use the current Steam client normally. Windows 10 or 11 is the safer practical target. What does Stacklands look like?
The official Steam gallery is the best place to inspect the game’s card-based board before buying: view the Stacklands screenshots and trailer on Steam. The compact, colorful, hand-drawn presentation puts cards, villagers and production chains on one information-dense board.
- Village and card layout: See how villagers, resources and structures occupy the same board.
- Resource production: The store description gives stacking a Villager with a Berry Bush as an example of producing food.
- Crafting: Resource combinations create new cards, while Idea Cards reveal recipes.
- Combat: The Steam description explains that a villager encountering an enemy engages automatically.
- Paused board: The listing shows a pause state, useful for taking stock before reorganizing a crowded settlement.
Beginner tips for your first run
Keep food ahead of expansion
Villagers must be fed at the end of each Moon. Maintain a visible food reserve before spending resources on buildings or card packs; an attractive new structure will not help if there is nothing left for the next food check.

Keep piles organized by purpose
Separate food production, building materials, villagers, combat equipment, unprocessed resources and cards you intend to sell. Clear piles make missing recipe ingredients easier to spot and reduce accidental combinations when the board gets busy.
Read Ideas before using unfamiliar resources
Idea Cards reveal recipes, so inspect them before selling or consuming a resource you do not recognize. One example on Steam is a House made by stacking two Wood, one Stone and one Villager. Steam’s description includes the recipe example and combat details.
Buy packs to solve a current bottleneck
Card packs have different focuses, including Cooking, Farming and Building. Spend coins on the area your settlement currently needs instead of buying every pack as soon as it becomes available.

Sell surplus, not the foundation of your settlement
Selling cards can provide coins, but keep a dependable food chain, basic building materials, productive villagers and combat equipment. Hold on to newly discovered or unfamiliar resources until you know whether they are needed.
Pause before risky moves and combat
Pause before reorganizing a crowded board, especially when production is underway or a food deadline is approaching. Since combat starts when a villager encounters an enemy, avoid exposing an isolated, unarmed villager; equip and group villagers when preparing for danger.

It is a good fit if you want a compact, single-player management game where experimentation, card combinations and resource planning matter more than navigating a large world. Its survival pressure gives otherwise cozy-looking village management occasional urgency. Steam’s advertised 5–7-hour estimate suggests a relatively short core experience, though individual playtime varies.

Look elsewhere if you specifically want co-op or multiplayer, direct manual combat, a large open-world builder, or a long campaign with many hours of required progression. Steam identifies the game as single-player.
Steam displayed an “Overwhelmingly Positive” English review label and a “Very Positive” recent-review label in the listing captured August 16, 2026. Ratings and review counts change over time; check the live listing for the current picture.
Base game, DLC and bundle
You can start with the base game alone; the complete bundle is not required. Steam lists two paid expansions, Stacklands: Cursed Worlds and Stacklands 2000, as well as a complete bundle with the base game and both expansions.

- Game missing from Library: Confirm that you are signed in to the Steam account that owns it, then check Library rather than searching for an external installer.
- Install button unavailable: Confirm Steam is running and signed in; restarting the client may refresh the Library view.
- Not enough disk space: Choose a drive with room beyond the listed 200 MB minimum to accommodate Steam setup, temporary files and updates.
