In Battle Royale, opponents cannot see your Sidekick under Epic’s stated rule: you can see only your team’s Sidekicks. Sidekicks are cosmetic companions, not gameplay aids; Epic says they provide no gameplay advantage and do not take damage. Visibility in other Fortnite experiences varies, and Epic has not specified a rule for each one.
Can other players see your Sidekick?
Battle Royale
Epic’s official Sidekick listing says that in Battle Royale, “you can only see your team’s Sidekicks.” That means players on opposing teams do not see your Sidekick under the documented Battle Royale rule.
Other Fortnite experiences
Epic says Sidekick visibility varies in other experiences, without mapping a specific visibility rule to each one. Epic Player Support lists Battle Royale, Save the World, Fortnite Festival, LEGO Fortnite, and developer-made experiences as places where a Sidekick may accompany you. In developer-made experiences, the island developer must enable Sidekicks.
Fortnite Festival has a specific exception: Epic Player Support says your Sidekick stays backstage there. For Save the World, LEGO Fortnite, and enabled developer-made islands, the general listing does not establish whether other players can see your Sidekick.

Epic’s October 30, 2025 Sidekick announcement says names and accessories can be changed, while chosen physical traits determine the companion’s appearance going forward. Epic Player Support clarifies that eligible appearance customization is a one-time choice: after you lock it in, those appearance choices are permanent. You can own multiple copies with different appearances, but duplicate appearances are not allowed.
