The Razer Handheld Dock Chroma is a well-built USB-C dock that doubles as a folding stand for a handheld gaming PC. It works with compatible USB-C devices and offers HDMI 2.0, three USB-A ports, Gigabit Ethernet and Chroma lighting. Its appeal is the tidy design and broad device support—not the most ports or best value: it has no HDMI 2.1, no USB-C data port, a captive host cable and no included charger.

What you get, and what you give up

The dock connects to a handheld through USB-C, provided the device supports video, data and power over that connection. Its built-in stand has two viewing positions, at 45 and 75 degrees, and folds for carrying. Razer lists its dimensions as 194 × 32 × 194 mm and weight as 0.92 kg.

Feature Razer Handheld Dock Chroma
Display output HDMI 2.0; Razer documents 4K at up to 60Hz
USB ports Three USB-A Gen 1 ports, rated up to 5Gbps; no USB-C data port
Networking Gigabit Ethernet
Power input and passthrough USB-C PD input up to 100W; up to 85W can reach the handheld, with the rest available for dock peripherals
Stand Folding, two positions: 45 and 75 degrees
Construction and size Aluminum and plastic; 194 × 32 × 194 mm; 0.92 kg
Lighting Chroma RGB, controlled by a dedicated button; Synapse offers additional configuration
Host connection Captive USB-C cable
Power adapter Not included, according to Razer and the cited reviews

The 4K/60Hz ceiling is suitable for a 4K display at 60 frames per second, but HDMI 2.0 makes this a poor match for setups targeting 4K/120Hz or 1080p/240Hz. The three USB-A ports cover common peripherals, but their 5Gbps rating and lack of a USB-C data connection leave less room for high-speed accessories than some buyers may want.

Which handhelds and devices work with it?

Razer describes the dock as compatible with USB-C handhelds and tablets that support power, video and data over USB-C. Its listed examples include Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go and Nintendo Switch. Compatibility depends on the device’s USB-C capabilities, not simply the connector’s shape. Razer notes a placement caveat for the Switch.

HotHardware’s February 24, 2026 review reports using it with handhelds, Nintendo Switch 2 and smartphones. That is evidence of those review setups, not a guarantee for every phone or device: confirm that the specific model supports USB-C video output before buying.

Will a handheld with a case fit?

The folding stand is designed to support a handheld while docked, but fit depends on the device and the thickness of its protective case. Windows Central’s February 22, 2025 review found that thicker cases could prevent a good fit. If you plan to leave a bulky case on, check the device’s seated position and USB-C port alignment against the dock’s shape before relying on it as a stand.

Does it include a charger, and how much power reaches the handheld?

No charger is included. The dock accepts up to 100W USB-C Power Delivery input; Razer says up to 85W can be delivered to the handheld, while the remainder powers dock peripherals. You will need a compatible USB-C PD charger separately, and actual charging behavior also depends on the handheld and its power requirements.

Is the Chroma RGB worth paying extra for?

The lighting is a real design feature, rather than a performance upgrade. A dedicated button controls it, while Razer Synapse provides additional configuration. If you want a coordinated, illuminated desk setup, that and the aluminum-and-plastic build help distinguish this dock. If you would turn the lighting off and mainly need ports, those features are unlikely to justify choosing it over a less expensive dock with a better port mix.

What reviewers liked—and what they questioned

Build, stand and appearance

HotHardware’s Zak Killian praised the solid construction and intuitive hinge, and described the RGB as tasteful. Windows Central’s Zachary Boddy likewise found the folding stand compact and well built. Together, the reviews point to the stand and presentation as the dock’s clearest strengths.

Ports, cable and price

Both reviews identify practical compromises: HDMI 2.0 rather than HDMI 2.1, no included charger and a limited port selection. HotHardware also calls out the lack of faster Ethernet, 10Gbps USB and USB-C passthrough. Windows Central raises a durability concern about the captive host cable, which cannot be detached from the dock.

Who should buy the Razer Handheld Dock Chroma?

It makes sense if

  • You want a folding stand and a polished, compact-looking setup.
  • You value Chroma RGB and additional Synapse configuration.
  • Your handheld supports USB-C video, power and data, and HDMI 2.0 meets your display needs.
  • Three USB-A ports and Gigabit Ethernet cover your accessories and network connection.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need HDMI 2.1 for higher-refresh display modes such as 4K/120Hz.
  • You need USB-C data expansion, faster-than-Gigabit Ethernet or 10Gbps USB.
  • You want a detachable host cable, or need a dock that includes its charger.
  • Your priority is the lowest total cost or the most ports for the money.

Razer’s dock is best understood as a portable stand-first dock with attractive lighting, not a maximum-bandwidth desktop hub. For buyers who value the design and know the port limits suit their setup, it is a polished option; for everyone else, missing features and the separate charger make the price harder to justify.
