Casey Jarvis finished Friday’s second round with a two-putt birdie at Kingsbarns to move into a one-shot lead at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. He shot a 5-under 67 and stood at 11-under 133 after two rounds, according to the Associated Press’s October 2, 2026 report.
How Jarvis took the lead
Jarvis’s closing birdie broke a four-way tie and gave the South African sole possession of the lead, the tournament’s official news account reported. The AP described it as a two-putt birdie on his final hole at Kingsbarns.
The 5-under 67 was Jarvis’s Friday score; 11-under 133 was his total through two rounds. Those figures and the one-shot margin are the standings reported on October 2, not the championship’s final result.
Who was one shot behind?
The AP report listed Rocco Repetto Taylor, M.J. Daffue and Matthew Jordan one stroke behind Jarvis. Repetto Taylor had shot a 64 at Kingsbarns.

Why the tournament uses three courses
The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship pairs professional golfers with amateurs and is played across Kingsbarns, St Andrews and Carnoustie. The AP described the event as having a 54-hole cut. The official championship site says the tournament has featured the world’s top players since 2001.
Jarvis’s outlook in his own words
Jarvis said the week could give him confidence late in the season after he had not played particularly well in recent links events, the Irish Open and the Nexo Championship at Aberdeen. He added that his finish at The Open had helped and that he knew he could compete in links golf. The AP also reported that he had won the Kenya Open and South African Open earlier in 2026.

Defending champion Robert MacIntyre described his approach this way: “It’s just the way I play golf. I’m always on the edge. I’m always pushing to be better,” he said, according to the AP.
