To keep a Kannada podcast playing on YouTube Live all day, send prerecorded episodes to a live broadcast using an encoder. You can run OBS on a computer to loop one episode or rotate a playlist, or use a cloud playout service so a home computer does not have to stay on. YouTube does not turn an ordinary video upload into a continuous live feed automatically.
Choose how to run the continuous stream

Prepare the channel and episodes
Confirm YouTube Live access
The channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable access ahead of the planned launch.
Prepare the episode visuals and rights
Pair each episode’s audio with suitable visuals, such as its artwork. This is a production choice, not a YouTube requirement. Confirm that you own or have permission to use the episode, music, clips, artwork, and other assets for live distribution in the relevant territories. Keep permission records.

Plan the playlist and replay
Make the broadcast’s nature clear in its title and description. Listing episode names and the playlist or schedule helps viewers understand what is playing; a channel contact or rights note can also be useful. If preserving a replay matters, plan for the archive limit: YouTube may not capture streams longer than 12 hours. Keep a local recording as backup, or end and restart broadcasts before they exceed that threshold.
Set up a continuous stream with OBS
- Install OBS Studio. Keep the episode files accessible on the computer that will run the broadcast.
- Add one episode: In OBS, add a Media Source, select the episode file, and enable Loop if it should repeat when playback ends.
- Build a rotating playlist: Add a VLC Video source and add the episode files to its playlist. Enable Loop Playlist to restart the source after it runs out of media files. VLC must be installed for the VLC Video source to be available.
- Create a live stream in YouTube Studio: Open the Live Control Room and create the broadcast. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown there.
- Connect OBS: Open OBS stream settings, enter the YouTube stream URL and key, and start the encoder. Check the preview in Live Control Room, then start the broadcast there as directed.
- Check the complete viewing path: Before relying on the channel, confirm audio levels, visuals, episode transitions, the public watch page, and playback through a full episode. Confirm the loop or playlist behavior rather than assuming the setting is correct.
The broadcast is a continuous playlist of episodes, not a normal upload that YouTube has converted into a live stream. YouTube’s encoder help covers encoder setup; these steps describe the OBS workflow at a practical level.

Rights, copyright, and monetization
Copyright can interrupt a live stream
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted material in another live broadcast. If a licensed track or clip triggers a match, YouTube says the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license by itself may not prevent interruption. Keep written permissions and asset records, and ask the rights holder about allowlisting where needed.
Originality affects monetization separately
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams. They expect original, authentic content and can exclude repetitive or mass-produced material. Reused-content review is a separate channel-level question from copyright, so permission to rebroadcast something does not itself establish monetization eligibility. Distinct episodes from your own podcast have a stronger originality basis than simply repeating other creators’ material, but YouTube makes the decision for each channel.

Can I use a microphone to stream episodes that are already recorded?
No microphone is needed to send existing recordings; a microphone is relevant when recording or re-recording audio.

Does one long broadcast guarantee a complete YouTube replay?
No. YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all.
