Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTo make a 24/7 YouTube chillhop radio stream, clear the rights to every track and visual, configure a livestream in YouTube Studio, and use an encoder to send a looping music-and-visual program to YouTube. To keep a YouTube music livestream running all day, you also need enough upload bandwidth, a tested recovery plan, and ongoing monitoring; a single computer-based stream is not automatically self-healing.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified, eligible for live streaming, and has no live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days. If you have never enabled live streaming, YouTube says activation can take up to 24 hours.
- A chillhop playlist and visual output that your channel is legally permitted to stream.
- An encoder workflow: software running on a computer or a hardware encoder, connected to YouTube with the stream URL and stream key.
- A stable internet connection with enough upload capacity for the full stream bitrate, plus operating and monitoring plans for long-running broadcasts.
YouTube says expensive equipment is not required to get started, but the computer or hardware you choose must be capable of running your encoder and maintaining the stream. The available guidance does not establish a particular encoder, minimum computer specification, or preferred vendor.
Clear music and visual rights first
Rights are the essential dependency, not an optional finishing step. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the person providing the live content to have the necessary rights worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions and confirm that your permissions cover the actual livestream, intended territories, and any replay or archive use.
Crediting an artist, calling tracks “lofi” or “copyright free,” or finding music online does not by itself grant permission. Clear the artwork and any animation or other visuals as well as the audio. Rights vary by catalog, rights holder, territory and use; no general checklist can establish that a particular track is safe for your channel.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Build a stable chillhop program
Prepare the playlist
Choose tracks you have permission to use and arrange them into a continuous program. Check transitions, silence, volume consistency and the full playlist length. If you intend to loop it, listen through the point where the end returns to the beginning so an abrupt cut or gap does not recur indefinitely.
Choose the visual output
Create a static image or a gently animated visual that you are also permitted to use. The visual and the music need to be assembled into an output your chosen encoder can send to YouTube. A music playlist alone is not a livestream: the encoder sends the audiovisual program as a live signal.
Choose software or hardware encoding
YouTube supports encoder-based streaming through software encoders and hardware encoders. Pick a workflow that can reliably play or loop your prepared program, maintain the YouTube connection, and be monitored. Verify the encoder’s own settings and operating requirements; the YouTube sources cited here do not establish one universally suitable product or computer configuration.

Set up YouTube and connect the encoder
- Enable live streaming early. Verify the channel and check its live-streaming eligibility before the launch date. First-time enablement may take up to 24 hours.
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream and select the encoder workflow. Review the current YouTube setup prompts, since interface labels can change.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key into your encoder. Treat the key as a credential: do not publish it, include it in a video, or share it with someone who should not control the stream. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Configure the program output. Set the encoder to send the prepared chillhop audio and visual output. Confirm its output format and bitrate are supported by the current YouTube setup guidance and that the chosen bitrate fits your upload connection.
- Run an unlisted or private test. Start the encoder, inspect the Live Control Room preview, open the watch page as a viewer, and check picture, audio, transitions and playback. If you are recording locally, verify that the recording file is growing and can be played back.
- Go live only after the test is clean. Follow the Live Control Room prompts to start the public broadcast. Keep the encoder and its playback source running for the duration you want the stream to remain live.
Plan bitrate, bandwidth and uptime
Your upload connection must carry the stream’s total bitrate continuously. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend leaving 20% headroom above the total bitrate. If you run primary and backup encoders, account for the combined bitrate when planning bandwidth. This is YouTube’s recommendation, not a guarantee that a connection will remain stable.
Use a wired connection where practical, avoid saturating the upload link with other traffic, and test the stream for long enough to expose ordinary connection or playback problems. A backup encoder can help with a planned failover, but only if its program and connection are configured and tested. Monitor the stream rather than assuming a long broadcast will recover by itself; a failed computer, power interruption, network outage, playlist problem or YouTube disconnect can interrupt it.
YouTube documents a limit of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key in its live-streaming setup guidance. Google’s developer documentation separately says three live broadcasts may be bound to one stream resource; that is a distinct resource-level detail, not a way to exceed the channel or key limits.

Decide how viewers will get a replay
YouTube’s encoder setup page says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish that one uninterrupted 24/7 event will produce a complete replay. If a replay matters, test the archive behavior you need before relying on it; consider ending and restarting shorter broadcasts or keeping a usable local recording, while accounting for the added operational work and any separate rights needed for replay use.

The channel cannot go live
Check verification, eligibility and whether the channel has a live-streaming restriction in the prior 90 days. If live streaming has just been enabled for the first time, allow up to 24 hours for activation before treating the setup as broken.
The preview is missing or the encoder will not connect
Confirm that the encoder has the current stream URL and stream key from the intended Live Control Room stream, that the key has not been reset, and that the encoder is online. Re-enter the credentials if needed. Never expose the key in a public screen capture or stream.

The stream buffers, drops frames or disconnects
Compare the encoder’s total bitrate with available upload capacity, restore the recommended 20% headroom, and reduce competing network traffic. Check the connection and encoder status. If you use a backup encoder, verify that failover is configured and test it rather than assuming it will take over.
Audio or video is absent or wrong
Check the encoder’s selected audio and video sources, then verify the actual output in the Live Control Room preview and on the viewer watch page. Test the playlist transitions and the local recording, if used, before relaunching a long broadcast.
The 24-hour stream has no complete replay
The automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours, not a full-day event. For future broadcasts, test shorter broadcast segments or make a local recording and verify that it is usable.
