If you want to broadcast prerecorded yoga as a continuous YouTube Live stream, create a Live stream in YouTube Studio and send the looping video through an encoder on a computer. The first option repeats playback for you; it does not create a broadcast.
Choose between repeat playback and a Live broadcast

How to broadcast a prerecorded yoga video as a Live loop
1. Check that your channel can livestream
YouTube’s general guidance says livestreaming requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. The general eligibility page also states a minimum age of 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before you plan to go live. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
2. Prepare a computer and encoder
You need a computer running encoder software, or a standalone hardware encoder. YouTube does not prescribe a particular laptop or encoder model, and says expensive equipment is not required for a basic setup. Choose an encoder that can use a prerecorded media file as its video source and repeat that source. The exact control and menu names vary by encoder and version; YouTube’s setup guide does not specify those third-party controls.
3. Create the stream and copy its connection details
- In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live.
- Create a stream, or open the Manage tab to schedule one. Scheduling can provide a shareable watch page and let viewers set a reminder.
- In the Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key into the corresponding fields in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your stream.

4. Set the yoga video to repeat in the encoder
Select the prerecorded yoga video as the encoder’s video source, then enable its repeat or loop option. This setting belongs to the encoder or media source, not YouTube’s player Loop control. Confirm the file plays through and restarts as expected in the encoder preview before starting the broadcast.
5. Start, check, and end the broadcast
- Start streaming from the encoder and wait for its feed to appear in Live Control Room.
- Check the preview, audio, and playback before the public broadcast begins.
- If you scheduled the stream, select Go live after checking the preview.
- When finished, end the stream in YouTube and stop the encoder.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That is a platform rule, not a guarantee that a longer stream will be archived.

6. Decide whether viewers should be able to rewind
YouTube’s DVR setting lets viewers pause, rewind, and continue during a Live stream. Enable or disable it according to whether that experience suits the class or practice session. The available Live stream settings are described in YouTube’s live encoder settings.
Protect your yoga footage and music
Use video and music you own or have permission to broadcast and archive. Crediting a rights holder is not the same as having permission. YouTube scans all live streams for matches to third-party content; identified material can be replaced with a placeholder, and continued use may lead to interruption or termination. A license may not prevent an automated interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel in Content ID.

Review YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its Terms of Service. Rights and legal requirements depend on the material and where you operate; do not assume that a video or track is cleared merely because it is available online.
What is different for creators in India?
The YouTube setup and eligibility guidance cited here is general, not a separate India-specific streaming workflow. It does not establish that every account in India is automatically eligible, nor does it settle local rights obligations. Check that your own channel meets YouTube’s live requirements and that you have the necessary rights for both the footage and music.

Troubleshoot common loop problems
- The video repeats for you, but there is no Live broadcast: You are using the YouTube player’s Loop control. Create a Live stream in Studio and send the feed from an encoder instead.
- Live Control Room does not receive a feed: Check that the stream URL and key in the encoder match the active stream in Studio, then restart the encoder connection.
- The source plays once and stops: The repeat setting is controlled by the encoder or its media source. Check that source’s loop option; the YouTube player setting does not control it.
- You cannot activate livestreaming: Verify the channel and check for live-streaming restrictions. If this is the channel’s first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- The stream shows a placeholder or is interrupted: Check for third-party video or music matches. Confirm your broadcast rights and, if you are licensed, ask the rights owner whether your channel needs to be added to its Content ID allowlist.
