YouTube does not publish a fixed per-hour rate or a special payout formula for 24/7 streams, so uptime alone cannot tell you what the stream will earn.
How YouTube Premium revenue is calculated
YouTube Help says Premium membership revenue is distributed to creators based on how much Premium members watch their content. The public guidance does not specify all calculation inputs or give creators a universal dollar-per-view, dollar-per-hour, or 24/7-stream rate. YouTube also says the majority of Premium membership revenue goes to YouTube partners.
In practical terms, a stream being available for 24 hours does not establish that Premium members watched it, or determine a fixed payment. Do not multiply broadcast hours by an assumed rate to forecast Premium revenue. YouTube directs partners to the revenue-share terms in their agreements in Studio for further details. Can a 24/7 livestream earn Premium revenue all day?
Live-stream videos can earn YouTube Premium revenue when viewed on the Watch Page, provided the creator accepts the Watch Page Monetization Module. YouTube’s guidance also covers playback embedded in the YouTube Video Player on other sites, subject to the module. Qualification does not mean every hour online earns revenue: the public rule remains tied to Premium members’ watch activity.

To earn ad and YouTube Premium revenue on long-form or live-stream videos viewed on the Watch Page, YouTube requires acceptance of the Watch Page Monetization Module. Its Premium guidance additionally says long-form creators must turn on Watch Page ads. Check the current monetization requirements and settings in YouTube Studio. Choose how you want to monetize.
Premium revenue and livestream ad revenue are different
A live stream may earn revenue through both Premium membership allocations and ads, but the mechanisms are distinct. Premium revenue reflects Premium members’ viewing; live ad revenue depends on ads actually being served in available slots. YouTube describes pre-roll, display, and mid-roll ads, and cautions that an ad slot is not guaranteed to receive an ad.

YouTube says automatic or manual mid-rolls may be used. Its live-stream guidance reports that creators choosing automatic live mid-rolls saw an average uplift of over 20% in in-stream ad revenue per hour; that figure concerns ad revenue, not Premium allocation, and is not a Premium earnings estimate. How to check your channel’s reported revenue
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the channel’s Analytics, then the Revenue tab. Select the relevant date range and area where available.
- Review the Watch Page revenue figures and any available detailed or downloadable reports. YouTube describes Watch Page ad revenue in Analytics as an aggregate that includes AdSense for YouTube, DoubleClick ads, and YouTube Premium for the selected date range and area.
- Use the reports as channel-specific reporting, not as evidence of a universal Premium rate. Reporting labels and detail can change; use the current Revenue tab and reports available to your account.

What a public estimate cannot tell you
- A 24/7 schedule does not reveal how long Premium members watched.
- YouTube’s reviewed public guidance does not provide a per-member rate, country-specific allocation formula, or livestream-specific payout calculation.
- Without the creator’s own Analytics and applicable agreement terms, a defensible channel-specific payout forecast is not available from stream uptime alone.
