You can run Odia devotional music as a continuous YouTube live stream by preparing a rights-cleared playlist, enabling live streaming on your channel at least 24 hours before launch, then sending a stable audio-and-video feed from an encoder to YouTube. Test it as an unlisted stream first and monitor YouTube’s live dashboard after launch. Treat 24/7 as an operating goal, not a guarantee: copyright detection, encoder failures, power cuts, or network interruptions can stop or disrupt the broadcast.
1. Clear the music before building the playlist
Check rights for both the musical composition and the particular recording. A devotional, traditional, or widely available song is not automatically free to rebroadcast; a recording may have a separate owner from the underlying composition. The specific Odia catalog and its rights status will depend on the songs, recordings, agreements, territories, and terms involved.
Make a rights ledger
For every track, record the song title, composition writer or publisher, recording owner or label, territories, live-broadcast permission, permission to retain an archive, license term, and Content ID allowlist status. Confirm the permitted countries and dates in the actual license. Ask the relevant label or distributor to coordinate where applicable; YouTube for Artists recommends doing so when using copyright-protected music in a live stream.
Content ID is YouTube’s system for matching uploaded or streamed material against rights-holder reference content. An allowlist is the rights owner’s approval for a specified channel not to be treated as an unauthorized match for that content. If you have a license, ask the owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist and obtain written confirmation. YouTube warns that a licensed stream may still be interrupted without allowlisting, even if you limit it to territories where you hold rights. Do not rely on Creator Music to license a live radio stream: YouTube’s Creator Music FAQ says it does not currently support licensing for live content. This article is not a determination that any particular Odia song is cleared; verify the catalog and territories directly with the rights holders.
2. Enable and test YouTube Live ahead of time
- Verify the channel and enable live streaming. Complete YouTube’s channel requirements well before your planned start. YouTube for Artists advises enabling live streaming at least 24 hours before the first broadcast; see its Going Live for Music Channels guidance.
- Set up the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Create or schedule a live broadcast, enter a clear title and description, and choose the visibility and other stream details appropriate for your test. Keep the stream unlisted while you check the full setup.
- Run an end-to-end test. Send the actual encoder feed to YouTube and check the sound level and continuity, visual or artwork loop, title and description, network stability, encoder output, and YouTube’s live dashboard. YouTube for Artists specifically recommends testing an unlisted stream before going live.
- Resolve problems before the public launch. Confirm that the stream is arriving and that both picture and audio are present. Do not assume that a scheduled event is receiving a healthy feed just because it appears in Studio.
3. Send a continuous feed with an encoder
An encoder is software or hardware that turns your audio and video into a live feed and sends it to YouTube. YouTube for Artists recommends an encoder when you want more customization and control. For a radio-style channel, prepare a continuous audio-video output: for example, devotional tracks with a static image or a visual loop. The feed must remain active; a playlist prepared on your computer does not by itself make a YouTube broadcast continuous.

Configure the connection
In YouTube Studio, use the broadcast’s stream connection details to configure the encoder. Treat the stream key as a password: do not publish or share it, and replace it if it is exposed. YouTube’s technical documentation describes the broadcast (the event viewers watch) and the stream (the incoming audio-video feed) as related but distinct resources. Its Live Streaming API documents RTMP, RTMPS, DASH, and HLS as ingestion protocol values and explains that YouTube supplies an ingestion address and stream name. Most creators can use the Studio-provided details in an encoder without building an API integration; implementation details are in Google’s LiveStreams documentation and Live Streaming API overview.
Choose a streaming PC or dedicated encoder that meets the requirements of the encoder software and the video format you intend to send. The cited YouTube guidance does not specify a required computer model or minimum PC specification. A computer-based setup also depends on continuous power, a stable internet connection, and a process for noticing and fixing failures.

4. Monitor the stream and plan for recovery
After launch, check YouTube’s live dashboard and stream-health status rather than assuming the feed is fine. YouTube’s API documentation identifies health issues including low video bitrate, frame-rate mismatch, and missing audio. Respond to warnings while the broadcast is active; also arrange for someone or a reliable operations plan to handle encoder failure, lost audio, power or network loss, and copyright notices.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including another live broadcast. A detected match can lead to a placeholder image, warning, temporary interruption, or termination if the material continues. Even a stream with permission can be interrupted if the owner has not allowlisted the channel. YouTube documents these platform behaviors, but does not promise uninterrupted 24/7 service. 5. Decide whether to keep an archive
An archive is the saved video of a completed live broadcast, sometimes called a VOD. Decide whether you will retain one before launch, and make sure your permissions cover both the live use and the saved replay. YouTube says Content ID claims on archived live streams are made after the stream ends if the creator chooses to archive it. A license for live broadcasting should not be assumed to include archive or on-demand rights.
