To loop a saree catalog on YouTube Live with OBS, add your prepared video or images to an OBS scene, enable looping for video, then connect OBS to an encoder stream in YouTube Studio. The loop repeats recorded material; it does not show a live presenter or garment demonstration. You can add a separate camera scene for close-ups and questions.
Prepare the catalog before opening OBS
Use product photos and clips your shop owns or has permission to display. If you use supplier images, logos or music, confirm that permission covers a YouTube livestream. YouTube says creators must own and control live-stream content rights or clear the necessary rights, including music rights (YouTube Help: Tag products in your live streams).
- Give each item a SKU or short item number, and use the same identifier on screen and when you discuss it.
- Add only verified details such as fabric, price, stock and ordering instructions. Keep each card on screen long enough to read.
- Use a consistent file-naming order if you want clips to play in a particular sequence. Avoid relying on shuffle for a catalog buyers need to follow.
- Photos and recorded clips cannot guarantee how a color or texture will look on every viewer’s display. Invite viewers to ask for a close-up or live view when needed.
For a still-image catalog, OBS can display images or a slideshow; you do not have to turn each photograph into a video first. You can also combine media with text, a camera view or other sources in one scene (OBS Sources Guide).
Build a looping scene in OBS
Install OBS from the official OBS download page. Choose the source that matches your catalog format.

Loop one video file
- In OBS, select or create a scene, then use the Sources panel’s add button and choose Media Source.
- Create a new source, select the local video file, and enable Loop in the source properties.
- Confirm the file appears in the preview and that the loop returns to its beginning when playback ends. OBS documents this option in its Media Sources guide.
Loop several video clips
- Install VLC before configuring the source. OBS’s VLC Video source requires VLC; if you use 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC.
- Add a VLC Video source and populate its playlist with your catalog clips in the order you want.
- Leave shuffle off when buyers need a predictable sequence, then enable Loop Playlist.
- Review the source in the preview and check that the playlist order and repeat behavior suit your catalog.

Show still photographs
Add an OBS image or slideshow source and select the images in the desired sequence. Configure the slideshow’s order and timing deliberately, then preview it to make sure viewers have time to read each card. The exact duration that works depends on your card design and catalog; there is no single duration established for every shop.
Add item labels and an optional live view
Add text sources for item numbers, prices and ordering directions. In the Sources list, items higher in the list appear above items lower down. Select a source and position or resize it in the preview so labels do not cover important garment details. For a live fabric close-up or drape demonstration, add a video-capture source and switch to a separate scene when you want to appear on camera. OBS’s Sources Guide describes source layering and image, text, media and video-capture sources.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
YouTube encoder streaming requires a verified channel, and the channel must not have a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Check access before preparing an event (YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming).

- In the stream setup, use the current encoder connection details YouTube provides. In OBS, open Settings > Stream and connect using the service and stream key shown for that event. Treat the stream key like a password; do not show or share it publicly.
- Start streaming from OBS, then check YouTube’s incoming preview and stream health in Live Control Room before making the event public or telling customers it is live.
- Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance for resolution, bitrate and keyframe settings rather than copying values from an old tutorial. Recommendations can change, and the appropriate settings depend on the event and connection (YouTube Help: Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions).
Check the audio path even if the catalog is mainly visual. Test the microphone if you will narrate, and verify that a silent loop does not contain unexpected audio. Any background music must be cleared for the stream.
Make the stream practical for buyers
- Keep the SKU or item number visible, and use that same number when discussing the item so chat questions are easy to match to the screen.
- Put a clear ordering route in the stream description and, if useful, a pinned chat message. Give stock, shipping and delivery details only when the shop can verify them.
- Switch to a separate camera scene for color questions, fabric close-ups or drape demonstrations. The prerecorded loop does not need a camera.
- Check the stream from a viewer’s perspective before promotion: text should be readable, item details should not be obscured, and the preview should show the intended scene.
Can you tag sarees as products on YouTube Live in India?
Possibly, but location alone does not make product tagging available. YouTube product tags are conditional on creator eligibility and the relevant Shopping setup. To tag your own sarees, you need to meet YouTube Shopping requirements and connect a supported shop; product information shown to viewers can depend on their country and the merchant’s shipping coverage. YouTube also notes that tags may not appear in some circumstances, including when content is claimed or otherwise ineligible (Tag products in your live streams; Get started with Shopping on YouTube).

India is included in YouTube’s list of countries for eligible creators in the Shopping affiliate program, but Indian creators still need to meet the program’s other requirements. That affiliate route is distinct from tagging your own inventory, which requires the applicable Shopping eligibility and connected-store setup. Check the Shopping or Earn options in your own YouTube Studio, confirm your store and product feed, and verify stock and shipping destinations before promising viewers that a tag or checkout will be available (YouTube Shopping affiliate program overview & eligibility).

Troubleshoot common problems
The video stops at the end
Open the Media Source properties and check that Loop is enabled. For a group of clips, check Loop Playlist on the VLC Video source instead.

Install VLC and restart OBS if necessary. Confirm the VLC installation matches OBS’s architecture: 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. If a clip still fails, check that the file opens in a media player and add it to the playlist again.

The item sequence changes unexpectedly
Check that shuffle is off and arrange the playlist in the intended order. For image slideshows, check the selected image order and timing in the source properties.
Labels are hidden or cover the saree
Reorder sources in the Sources panel: higher entries appear above lower ones. Move or resize the text in the preview, then inspect the full scene to ensure garment details remain visible.
YouTube does not show an incoming picture
Confirm OBS is streaming to the encoder setup for the intended YouTube event and that the current stream key was entered correctly. Check Live Control Room’s incoming preview and stream health before publishing; use YouTube’s current encoder recommendations if the connection or picture is unstable.

You cannot start an encoder stream
Check that the channel is verified and has no live-stream restriction within the preceding 90 days. If access is unavailable, resolve the channel eligibility issue in YouTube before relying on the event being live.
A product tag does not appear
Check channel and Shopping eligibility, the connected store and product status, and whether the content is claimed or otherwise ineligible. Viewer country and shipping coverage can affect product information; verify the setup in YouTube Studio rather than promising a tag in advance.
