You can run a 24/7 YouTube stream of Tamil A. R. Rahman songs with an encoder, but first clear the rights for every recording and have the relevant owners add your channel to their Content ID allowlist. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt or terminate a stream when it detects a match. An encoder or cloud service does not provide music rights.
1. Clear the music rights before setting up the stream
Do not assume that a song is cleared because it is available on YouTube, you own a copy, or you have permission to play it elsewhere. The planned recordings and versions are unspecified, so no particular A. R. Rahman track or catalog can be treated as cleared. Identify the rights holders for each recording and confirm that your permission covers YouTube live streaming in the territories and for the duration you intend.
- Make a track-by-track list of the exact recordings and versions you plan to play.
- Contact the relevant label, distributor, or other rights holder to request permission for the intended YouTube live use.
- Ask each relevant content owner to add your YouTube channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube says licensed third-party content may still be interrupted if the owner has not allowlisted the channel.
- Keep written records of the permissions and their scope. Do not start the stream until the rights and allowlisting are confirmed for the planned material.
YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music. YouTube also warns that permission alone may not prevent a live interruption if the channel is not on the owner’s allowlist.
2. Check whether your channel can go live
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restrictions during the preceding 90 days to enable live streaming. YouTube for Artists recommends verifying the account at least 24 hours before the planned event.

- Verify the YouTube account if you have not already done so.
- Check for any live-streaming restriction that falls within the preceding 90 days.
- Enable live streaming ahead of launch; allow at least 24 hours after verification before the planned stream, following YouTube for Artists’ guidance.

3. Choose a streaming method
YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder, and console streaming as available methods. For a music presentation where you want more control over the production, YouTube describes encoder streaming as suitable for concerts and other productions; YouTube for Artists says an encoder offers more customization and control than mobile or webcam streaming.

The official pages cited here do not specify an encoder model, computer configuration, bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval, or other encoder settings for this use case. Choose an encoder workflow that supports your production needs and consult its current instructions alongside YouTube’s live setup guidance; do not treat any particular device or setting as a YouTube requirement based on these pages.
4. Start the YouTube live stream with an encoder
- Prepare the live event in YouTube. Use YouTube’s current live setup flow to create or schedule the broadcast and retrieve its stream key. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to the event.
- Prepare the authorized programme. Assemble only the recordings covered by your permissions and Content ID allowlisting. Check the planned order and duration so the material you send matches what you cleared.
- Configure your encoder. Select the YouTube event as the destination and enter its stream key using the encoder’s instructions. Set the output according to the encoder’s supported options and the needs of your production; the cited YouTube guidance does not provide specific technical values for a 24/7 Rahman stream.
- Preview and go live. Confirm that the correct event and authorized material are selected, then start the encoder and begin the broadcast through YouTube’s live controls.
- Keep the local setup operating. With a do-it-yourself encoder workflow, the equipment and connection running that encoder must remain available for the broadcast to continue. YouTube’s cited guidance does not compare the uptime, power use, or reliability of particular computers or encoders.
5. Watch for copyright enforcement and decide whether to archive
YouTube scans all live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects content, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using that material; if the material remains, the broadcast may be interrupted or terminated. If the stream stops, check YouTube Studio for strikes and review the stream’s status before attempting to restart it.

If you choose to archive the broadcast, YouTube says Content ID claims on archived live streams are made after the stream ends. Archiving does not replace the need to clear the recordings for the live use.

6. Troubleshoot common launch and interruption problems
- You cannot enable live streaming: Check whether the channel is verified and whether it has a live-streaming restriction within the preceding 90 days. If you have just verified the account, YouTube for Artists recommends enabling live streaming at least 24 hours before the event.
- The stream is replaced by a placeholder or interrupted: YouTube may have detected third-party content. Stop using the flagged material, check YouTube Studio for warnings or strikes, and confirm that the exact recording is covered by permission and that the relevant owner has allowlisted your channel.
- You have permission but the stream is still flagged: Permission may not prevent interruption without Content ID allowlisting. Contact the rights holder or distributor to resolve the allowlist status before using the material again.
- The encoder does not connect to the event: Check that you selected the intended YouTube event and used its corresponding stream key. Consult the encoder’s instructions for connection-specific errors; YouTube’s cited pages do not identify settings for a particular encoder.
- You are unsure whether a recording is cleared: Leave it out until you have confirmed the rights for that exact version, intended territories and streaming duration, and resolved any required Content ID allowlisting.
