Most importantly, devotional subject matter does not make a recording copyright-free; clear the rights to every recording and composition before streaming.
Before you start: check live access and prepare the content
Confirm YouTube live-streaming eligibility
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Check live access in YouTube Studio before building the stream. OBS alone does not grant permission to broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming overview.
Clear the playlist’s rights
Check rights for each specific recording and its underlying composition, including the intended livestream use and relevant territories. Rights can differ by performer, label, recording, and composition. Keep permission records. A song’s devotional character, age, popularity, or availability online does not establish that you may stream it.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can replace the stream with a placeholder, trigger a warning or interruption, or lead to termination if the content continues or a strike applies. Even if you have licensed third-party material, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; otherwise, YouTube says the stream may still be interrupted. Set up the YouTube broadcast and connect OBS
- Create or select the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, prepare the intended live broadcast and review its visibility and broadcast details before going public.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. Use the YouTube integration available in your OBS version, or enter the stream settings and key provided by YouTube Studio. If you use a stream key, treat it as a password: do not publish or share it. Confirm that OBS is connected to the broadcast you intend to use.
- Check how the broadcast starts and stops. OBS and YouTube may offer controls that determine whether sending encoder data starts the broadcast and whether stopping the encoder ends it. Verify the current controls in both interfaces. OBS’s published guide to YouTube integration dates to 2015, so its menu names and screenshots may not match current versions: OBS’s YouTube guide.
A scheduled broadcast can give you a distinct event to select and manage. It does not guarantee continuity after an encoder or network failure. Do not rely on an old menu path or assume a reconnect will behave a particular way: test the current setup.
Build and rehearse the playlist scene in OBS
Make the scene suitable for a continuous stream
Create an OBS scene with a stable visual, such as artwork you own or have permission to use, and the audio source for the playlist. The exact playlist-source method depends on how your audio files and playback software are organized; the available platform guidance does not prescribe a particular OBS source or guarantee a 24-hour looping configuration. Whatever method you choose, test it rather than assuming it will repeat correctly.

Test playback and transitions
- Listen for clean audio at the YouTube preview, without clipping, silence, or unexpected gaps.
- Watch a full track transition and confirm the next item plays as expected.
- Check that the visual remains appropriate and stable throughout playback.
- Rehearse repeat behavior, OBS restarts, and an internet interruption. Confirm how the broadcast behaves when the encoder reconnects or stops.
No source cited here establishes a required bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval, computer specification, or maximum continuous runtime for this playlist. Do not treat an unverified setting or hardware recommendation as a YouTube requirement. A capable computer is needed to run OBS, but the appropriate specification depends on the actual setup. Wired networking or backup power may be useful operational choices, not stated platform prerequisites.
Test continuity and plan for recovery
Before calling the stream 24/7, run a rehearsal long enough to check playlist looping, scene transitions, internet interruption, OBS restart, and YouTube’s broadcast end and recovery behavior. Decide who will monitor the stream and what they will do if audio stops, OBS closes, or the broadcast ends. The cited platform guidance does not provide an OBS configuration that guarantees uninterrupted service.

YouTube’s live-stream overview lists limits of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. Those are platform limits, not targets for a single playlist stream. Check YouTube’s current live-stream overview if you operate several simultaneous broadcasts.
Copyright permission and monetization are separate
Having permission to use music does not guarantee that a channel will qualify for monetization. YouTube reviews reused content separately from copyright permission and enforcement. The outcome for a channel built mainly around a repetitive devotional music loop cannot be predicted from the format alone. Review the current YouTube channel monetization policies and assess the channel as a whole.
