You can loop a locally stored song or playlist in OBS and send it to YouTube, but clear the music rights before you build the stream. A remix being available online, labelled “free,” or used by another channel does not establish permission for your live broadcast or its replay. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches, and a licensed track can still be interrupted if its rights holder has not allowlisted your channel.
The steps below cover a static visual, a looping track or playlist, YouTube’s stream key, and a full-path test. They do not guarantee that one OBS session can run indefinitely: YouTube describes automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours, not guaranteed uninterrupted 24/7 operation.
1. Clear the Hindi remix rights before going live
YouTube’s live-stream terms put responsibility on you to hold all necessary rights for the live content in the territories where it is available. That can include rights in the sound recording, the underlying composition and publishing, and other royalty participants. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions state that creators represent and warrant they have the necessary rights, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants.
Ask the relevant rights holders for written permission that specifically covers YouTube live streaming, the territories you intend to reach, monetization if applicable, and archived replays. A remix may involve rights beyond the person who produced the remix; verify who controls each recording and composition rather than assuming one permission covers everything. Keep the agreements and any correspondence.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Credit, a purchase receipt, a “free download” label, or prior use by another channel is not a substitute for a license.
- “Royalty-free” does not by itself define what you may do. Check whether the license covers live broadcast, replay/archive, monetization, territories, and edits or remixes.
- YouTube says a “free” label does not prevent Content ID claims. Read the actual license terms and confirm the permitted uses with the licensor.
Ask about Content ID allowlisting
If a rights holder uses Content ID, ask them to allowlist your YouTube channel before you test the licensed catalog. YouTube explains that its systems scan live streams and that licensed third-party content may still interrupt a stream if the channel has not been allowlisted. Permission and allowlisting are separate practical checks: having a license does not itself guarantee that automated matching will let the stream continue.
Know what YouTube music sources do—and do not—cover
| Source | What the published guidance establishes | What to verify for this stream |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Audio Library | YouTube describes its production music and sound effects as copyright-safe for YouTube videos; some Creative Commons tracks require attribution under the track’s license. | Confirm that the particular track’s terms cover live use and an archived replay. Do not infer live-stream permission solely from general video guidance. |
| Creator Music | YouTube’s Creator Music FAQ says it currently does not support licensing for live content. | Do not treat Creator Music’s video-use terms as a live-stream license. |
| External “royalty-free” catalog | YouTube says a license specifies where and how music can be used, and a “free” label is not conclusive. | Get confirmation for live broadcast, replay, monetization, territory, remixing or editing, attribution, and Content ID handling. |
YouTube’s Creator Music availability and licensing program details can change. A rights-holder page describes a 2026 transition toward gratis licensing for some Creator Music uses, but that does not override the FAQ’s live-content limitation. Check the current program terms; do not rely on Creator Music for this live stream unless YouTube explicitly changes its live licensing guidance.
2. Check YouTube live-stream eligibility
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days to live stream. Check eligibility in your account before planning a launch. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and follow the prompts to create or select a stream. Interface labels can change, so use the current Studio workflow shown for your account.

3. Build a looping scene in OBS Studio
For a music-only broadcast, a simple scene can contain a still image or other visual and one audio source. Decide whether you are repeating one file or playing a catalog of tracks in a defined order.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Loop one file
- Open OBS Studio and select a scene, or create one for this broadcast.
- In the Sources box, select + and add an Image source if you want a static visual. Choose an image you have permission to use and fit it to the canvas.
- Select + again and add a Media Source. Choose the local audio or video file you are licensed to use.
- In the Media Source properties, enable Loop, then confirm. Play it in the preview and check that the audio meter moves.
Loop a playlist
- Install VLC if it is not already installed. With 64-bit OBS, use the matching 64-bit VLC version.
- In Sources, select + and add VLC Video.
- Add the cleared files to the playlist in the order you want them played.
- Enable Loop Playlist. Enable shuffle only if you want the order randomized; otherwise leave it off for a predictable sequence.
- Preview the playlist long enough to confirm file order, transitions, and consistent audio levels. Do not assume files normalize themselves to one loudness.
OBS also supports Media Source looping, while VLC Video adds playlist behavior and an optional shuffle setting. For a one-track repeat, Media Source avoids the VLC dependency; for a multi-track set, a VLC playlist makes ordering explicit.
4. Connect OBS to the YouTube stream
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select the stream for this broadcast.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the selected stream.
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream. Select YouTube as the service and enter the stream URL and stream key using the fields or connection option OBS presents.
- Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update OBS.
- Return to YouTube’s Live Control Room and OBS. Start the encoder from OBS, then wait for the incoming preview in Studio before choosing to go live or making the stream public.
Use YouTube’s current stream setup screen as the source of the stream URL and key; do not reuse a key from another channel or assume a previously selected key is still correct.

5. Test the whole chain before announcing a 24/7 stream
Run OBS’s Auto-Configuration Wizard and make a short test with the actual computer, scene, files, and network you intend to use. OBS says performance depends on the encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity; meeting a hardware requirement does not guarantee that a particular setup can stream reliably.
- Confirm the correct song or playlist starts, plays through, and loops as intended.
- Watch OBS’s audio meter and listen to the YouTube preview for silence, distortion, clipping, or abrupt volume changes.
- Check the visual in the preview and on the watch page at the intended viewing size.
- Verify the stream is reaching the intended channel and that the stream key is not exposed in the scene or on screen.
- Test the public or unlisted watch page, as appropriate, and monitor audio and video quality from YouTube’s side.
- Check for a Content ID warning or interruption using only music you have cleared and, where needed, had allowlisted.
6. Plan around archives and interruptions
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance is not proof that an event can run indefinitely, nor a guarantee that a single session will stay uninterrupted for 24 hours. The available guidance does not establish a universal maximum live-event duration. Confirm the current Live Control Room workflow and archive behavior for your account before designing a schedule around long sessions.

If you plan separate events instead of one continuous session, make the schedule and any breaks clear to viewers. Your own operational plan also needs to account for OBS or computer failure, internet loss, a YouTube interruption, and any rights-related block; do not describe the stream as guaranteed continuous.

Common problems and fixes
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube interrupts or blocks the stream after a song starts | Content ID matched music, or the channel has not been allowlisted by the rights holder. | Stop using the track until you resolve the claim with the rights holder. Confirm live and replay permission, and ask a Content ID owner to allowlist the channel before trying again. |
| OBS connects, but YouTube shows no incoming video | Wrong stream URL or key, a mismatched stream selection, or the encoder has not been started. | Recheck the selected stream in Live Control Room, copy its current URL and key, update OBS under Settings > Stream, and start the encoder again. |
| There is no sound in the preview | The media source is not playing, the wrong file was selected, or its audio is not reaching the OBS mix. | Confirm the source is active and playing, check the OBS audio meter, and preview again before going live. |
| A playlist stops after one pass or plays in the wrong order | Playlist looping is off, shuffle is enabled, or the VLC playlist is not configured as intended. | Open VLC Video properties, enable Loop Playlist, set shuffle deliberately, and test a complete playlist cycle. |
| OBS drops frames or the stream becomes unstable | The chosen encoder, resolution, frame rate, scene complexity, or network may exceed what the system can sustain. | Run the Auto-Configuration Wizard, simplify the scene or reduce the streaming load, and retest on the intended network. OBS hardware compatibility alone does not guarantee streaming capability. |
| The archive is missing or the event ends sooner than planned | The session exceeded the under-12-hour automatic archive guidance, or event behavior differs from the plan. | Check YouTube’s current archiving and Live Control Room guidance, and do not depend on that automatic-archive statement for sessions of 12 hours or more. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If you do not want a home computer and connection to be responsible for keeping the stream alive, StreamNeo is a cloud service for looping uploaded videos to YouTube. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It does not stream from a camera.
- Nothing has to stay on at home: the stream runs from the cloud.
- Each slot streams what you uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers.
- It can recover automatically if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card; one free day is available per account.
The same features are included on each plan; only the billing length changes. A slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and StreamNeo team support. For Hindi music channels in India, UPI and cards are accepted; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support.
StreamNeo does not clear music rights for you. Use only tracks whose rights cover your live broadcast and intended replay, and address Content ID allowlisting with the rights holder. See StreamNeo for details. The monthly option is $9.99 per month. Start the free first day on StreamNeo.
