Plan occasional tentpole events
Keep the regular devotional programming distinct from more deliberately planned broadcasts tied to an appropriate moment, such as a festival, channel anniversary, new original recording, or live performance. YouTube for Artists distinguishes low-lift casual streams for a core fanbase from tentpole streams planned and promoted around a major moment. Both can fit one channel: continuity serves regular listeners, while a special event gives you a timely reason to invite new ones.
Promote the live stream before, during, and after it
- Before the broadcast: Announce scheduled streams in advance through the channel’s existing audience and relevant community spaces. Explain what viewers can expect and when to join.

Use an encoder when the production needs more control
For a produced music broadcast, YouTube for Artists says an encoder provides more customisation and control than a simple mobile or webcam stream. A hardware video streaming encoder is one option if your production needs that control; it is not a growth tool by itself and may be unnecessary for a simpler setup. Choose equipment around the production you actually need rather than assuming more gear will bring more viewers.
YouTube for Artists also recommends coordinating with a label or distributor if you plan to use copyright-protected music during a live stream, to help avoid issues such as copyright strikes.

Clear rights before broadcasting or archiving music
Use recordings, performances, compositions, artwork, and other visuals only when you have the rights needed for the intended live and archived uses. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; unresolved matches can interrupt or terminate a broadcast. If you have a licence for third-party material, the rights owner may also need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist.
YouTube’s live-stream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for live and archived content, including applicable music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other rights participants. A composition’s age or devotional subject does not establish that a specific recording or arrangement is free to use. Check rights for the actual material and the territories where it will be available.

Protect monetization eligibility with meaningful original work
YouTube’s channel monetization policies apply to live streams. The platform expects original, authentic content; highly repetitive or mass-produced material may not qualify. Reused-content review is separate from copyright permission: having permission to use a recording does not by itself ensure that a channel meets monetization requirements. Keep records of who performed, recorded, and produced the material and what licences apply, and make the stream meaningfully original through performance, presentation, or other creative contribution rather than simply rebroadcasting a collection of recordings.
What the available audience evidence can—and cannot—tell you
YouTube reported that over 30% of daily logged-in viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is platform-wide context only. It does not estimate Kannada-bhajan demand, identify the likely audience for a 24/7 devotional stream, or predict the effect of continuous streaming on a particular channel.
