India is on YouTube’s list of countries where eligible creators can use Super Chat and Super Stickers, so being in India alone is unlikely to be the reason they are disabled. Check two things separately: whether your channel has access to Supers, and whether this particular stream meets YouTube’s eligibility requirements. YouTube’s 12-hour warning concerns replay archiving; it does not establish that a long stream loses Super Chat while it is live.
1. Check whether your channel has access to Supers
Super Chat is part of YouTube’s fan-funding features. YouTube’s baseline requirements include being in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), being at least 18, living in a supported location, and accepting and complying with the applicable Commerce Product Module or former Commerce Product Addendum. India appears on YouTube’s availability list, but location by itself does not enable the feature.
- Open YouTube Studio and select Earn.
- Look for the Supers tab or card. If it is available, check whether Super Chat and Super Stickers are switched on.
- If the Supers option is missing or unavailable, review the channel’s Earn status and any prompts there about eligibility or terms. The channel’s Studio status is the most useful next check; public rules cannot identify an individual channel’s restriction without its account details.

2. Check this stream’s audience and visibility settings
Even when a channel has Supers access, individual videos or streams can be ineligible. YouTube lists age-restricted, unlisted, private, made-for-kids, and YouTube Giving fundraiser videos among the cases where Super Chat and Super Stickers are unavailable.

- Audience: Check whether the stream is marked made for kids. YouTube says made-for-kids streams have live chat and Super Chat disabled.
- Visibility: Check whether the stream is public rather than unlisted or private.
- Age restriction: Check whether YouTube has age-restricted the stream.
- Fundraiser: Check whether the stream is a YouTube Giving fundraiser.
Review the stream’s settings in YouTube Studio and compare them with YouTube’s Supers availability rules and made-for-kids live-stream guidance.
3. Confirm live chat and comments are enabled
YouTube says Supers are unavailable when live chat or comments are turned off. Eligible live streams and Premieres with live chat enabled automatically support Supers, subject to the other eligibility requirements.

- Open the stream’s settings in YouTube Studio and confirm live chat is enabled.
- Open the stream’s YouTube watch page and check that live chat appears there. Live chat is not available in embedded players, so test on YouTube itself rather than on an embedded stream.
- If chat is set to subscribers-only, consider whether that restriction affects the viewers trying to participate.

4. Separate Super Chat availability from replay archiving
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, and warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. This matters if you need a replay of a continuous 24/7 broadcast. The archive caveat is not identified as a reason Super Chat becomes disabled during a live broadcast.

If preserving the broadcast matters, plan for the possibility that YouTube will not retain a replay of a stream that runs beyond 12 hours. Do not treat shortening or restarting a stream as a Super Chat fix unless another eligibility issue also applies. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
5. If the checks pass, use Studio to narrow down the issue
If the channel appears eligible, the stream is public and not age-restricted or made for kids, it is not a Giving fundraiser, and chat and comments are enabled, check the channel’s Earn section again for Supers access and any account-specific status. The applicable restriction cannot be determined from general rules alone; it depends on the channel’s eligibility and the stream’s settings.
