To create a scheduled YouTube Live event from prerecorded videos in Restream, open Pre-recorded livestream > Playlist, add and arrange your videos, preview the playlist, then schedule it with YouTube selected as a destination. Restream says the playlist starts automatically at the scheduled time. This creates one livestream from your video files—not a regular YouTube playlist of separate uploads.
Before you build the playlist
- Check your Restream plan: Restream’s playlist guide says the feature requires an Upload & Stream add-on tier: Marathon or Media. The guide, dated July 25, 2026, lists Marathon at $79/month with four hours of video library and a maximum resolution of 1080p; Media at $239/month with 12 hours of library and a maximum resolution of 4K. - Check YouTube Live access: Connect the correct channel and make sure live streaming is enabled. Restream says first-time activation requires phone verification and a 24-hour wait. - Plan the running time and number of files: Restream’s July 25, 2026 guide sets a maximum of 24 hours and 40 videos per playlist. Check the current guide if those limits are critical to your schedule. Restream’s playlist guide
- Prepare a prerecorded-only event: The Playlist feature cannot combine prerecorded files with a live presenter. Restream says to use videos in Studio if you need to mix prerecorded and live elements.
Create and schedule the playlist
- Open the playlist builder: From the Restream home screen, select Pre-recorded livestream, then Playlist.
- Add your videos: Choose videos already available in Restream or upload video files, then select Next.
- Arrange the running order: Drag and drop files into the sequence you want viewers to see. Add more files or a countdown if needed.
- Customize and preview: Apply available designs, captions or QR codes, then preview the result. Review the sequence and presentation before scheduling.
- Set the event time and destination: Select Schedule, enter the date and time, and choose YouTube among the streaming destinations. Complete the event details and YouTube settings, then create or schedule the event.
- Let the scheduled event start: Restream says prerecorded files and playlists begin automatically at the scheduled time. Some other connected platforms may require a manual start, so do not assume the same start behavior applies everywhere.
Restream also documents a general YouTube event route: choose New Stream, select Playlist as the stream type, follow the prompts to select files, enter event details, activate YouTube and set channel options. Review the playlist before it airs
Make the content and order final before the start time. Restream says you can add, remove or reorder videos before the playlist goes live. Once it is airing, its guide says only graphics and chat can be edited; you cannot change the playlist files or their order mid-stream. A playlist is therefore not a handoff format for bringing a host on camera halfway through the event.

Use the intended channel and event information
Authorize the YouTube channel whose audience should see the event, and confirm live streaming is enabled before scheduling. Restream’s 2026 instructions state a maximum of 100 characters for the YouTube title and 5,000 characters for the description. Make sure you have rights to every file
A prerecorded file does not become permissible to broadcast just because it is streamed as a live event. Use footage, music, game audio and other material you own or have permission to use, and check the relevant YouTube policies before scheduling. Restream’s playlist workflow does not grant rights to content in the files.
Do not start the YouTube event early
Restream cautions that a YouTube event created through Restream can be used once and says not to click Go Live before its scheduled time. Follow the scheduled playlist flow and avoid manually starting the event early. Restream’s YouTube scheduling guide

Troubleshooting
You cannot find Playlist
Check whether your account has an eligible Upload & Stream add-on tier. Restream’s playlist guide identifies Marathon and Media as eligible. If you believe your plan qualifies but the option is missing, check your current account plan and Restream’s latest help instructions.
YouTube is missing or will not authorize
Reconnect the intended channel and confirm that its owner has authorized access. If this is the channel’s first live activation, Restream says phone verification is required and activation can take 24 hours. Allow that time before the event.

The playlist exceeds a limit
Restream’s July 25, 2026 guide specifies a maximum of 40 videos and 24 hours per playlist. Shorten the running time or split the material into separate events if it exceeds either limit, and verify the current limits before relying on them.
You need to change a file after the event starts
Restream says that once the playlist is airing, only graphics and chat can be edited. Changes to its files or order need to be made before going live; the Playlist feature is not designed for mid-stream edits or a live-presenter segment.

The event did not start when expected
Check the scheduled time, selected YouTube destination, channel connection and whether live streaming was enabled in advance. Restream describes automatic starts for scheduled prerecorded files and playlists, but notes that behavior can differ on other connected platforms. Do not click Go Live early as a workaround for a scheduled YouTube event.
