Start with the workflow
For an uninterrupted prerecorded loop, compare cloud services that explicitly support continuous streams, playlist looping and scheduling. YouTube’s encoder-tool directory lists Gyre as a cloud-based option for continuous streams of prerecorded videos. A directory listing establishes it as a relevant candidate, not a universal winner; check the provider’s current limits against your channel’s needs.
Compare the number of simultaneous streams, library storage, playlist and scheduler behavior, supported resolution, supported destinations, recovery behavior and recurring cost. A general-purpose live studio can be useful for hosted events without being designed for all-day unattended playback.

Choose local operation only if you can own the uptime
A local encoder such as OBS sends the stream from your computer to YouTube. That can make sense if minimizing a separate service subscription matters more than convenience and you can leave the machine, encoder and internet connection operating. Account for electricity, hardware wear, connection interruptions and the time needed to monitor and restart the stream. A cloud service shifts the continuous playback workload away from your home setup, but adds a service cost and provider-specific capacity limits.
Check the plan against your actual library
Count the videos you intend to rotate, note their file sizes and quality, and decide whether the stream needs to run on a schedule or continuously. Protect the replay, rights and monetization eligibility
Do not rely on a single 24/7 stream for a complete archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived. If a stream lasts longer than 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. If viewers need a replay, use a separate local recording or plan shorter stream sessions; do not assume a continuous broadcast will produce a complete archive. Confirm you have rights to everything in the stream
A streaming service does not grant permission to use the videos, music, images or other material in your broadcast. YouTube’s livestream terms require the necessary rights for worldwide use of live content, including music licensing rights. Use material you created or are licensed to stream in the relevant territories and format.

Permission does not guarantee monetization approval
YouTube assesses reused content at the channel level. Its channel monetization policies say minimally changed third-party material may violate reused-content rules even when the creator has permission. Originality and added value matter. Eligible channels can enable live-stream monetization, but ads are not guaranteed to serve; a streaming tool does not guarantee earnings or channel growth.

- Check the source library. Confirm the videos and audio are cleared for the intended use and that the files play correctly.
- Set up the stream in YouTube. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup guidance to create a live stream and connect your encoder or streaming service using the stream key. Keep the key private.
- Run an unlisted test. Check that the stream starts, the playlist advances or loops as expected, and picture and sound play correctly on YouTube.
- Verify the operational details. Confirm that the selected plan supports your required resolution, storage, stream count, schedule and destination. For a local encoder, test what happens after an internet or power interruption.
- Decide how you will preserve a replay. If a complete archive matters, arrange local recording or shorter sessions rather than relying on a stream that may exceed YouTube’s 12-hour archive threshold.

What a 24/7 stream can—and cannot—promise
