Run two independent streaming jobs on the same VPS: one with the Hindi playlist and that channel’s YouTube stream configuration, and one with the Tamil playlist and its own channel configuration. Keep their schedules, credentials, files, logs and restart controls separate. A single VPS is the shared host—not a shared YouTube destination.
What needs to be separate
YouTube associates scheduled live broadcasts with a channel, and its API documentation says to create a different liveStream for each channel. Configure the Hindi and Tamil destinations independently; do not treat one channel’s stream key or broadcast as interchangeable with the other’s. See YouTube’s liveStreams documentation and liveBroadcasts documentation.
- Hindi job: Hindi media list, Hindi channel’s stream configuration, scheduled broadcast, logs and restart policy.
- Tamil job: Tamil media list, Tamil channel’s stream configuration, scheduled broadcast, logs and restart policy.
- Shared host: VPS operating system, network connection and available CPU, memory and storage.
Keep each channel’s content and metadata appropriate to that channel. The YouTube documentation cited here establishes separate channel stream resources and broadcasts; it does not establish that a particular Hindi or Tamil language setting is required to keep the schedules separate.
Choose how to schedule the YouTube broadcasts
| Route | How it works | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Studio | Schedule each channel’s stream in Live Control Room, then send encoder output to that channel’s server URL and stream key. Depending on the stream’s settings, wait for the preview and click Go live. End the stream in Live Control Room and stop the encoder output. | Manual setup and operation without programmatic broadcast creation. |
| YouTube Live Streaming API | Authorize as the relevant channel owner, create a channel-specific liveStream, then create and bind that channel’s liveBroadcast resources. Keep authorization and resource IDs distinct. A channel’s stream resource can be reused for that channel’s scheduled broadcasts when encoder settings remain the same. |
Programmatically creating or managing schedules, with channel-owner authorization. |
YouTube’s Help workflow for live streaming with an encoder describes the Studio path. API resource creation and binding are covered in the liveStreams, liveBroadcasts and Live Streaming API guides. Studio controls such as automatic start and automatic stop affect whether sending encoder output alone starts or ends a broadcast; check the current settings for each stream rather than assuming it will publish automatically.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Prepare separate playlists on the VPS
Use distinct directories and playlist files, then run one FFmpeg process or service instance per channel. The concat demuxer reads a file list sequentially as one virtual input. For reliable concatenation, the media files need compatible streams, codecs and time bases; inaccurate duration information can create timestamp gaps or artifacts. Consult the FFmpeg concat demuxer documentation.
Hindi job: playlist_hindi.txt -> FFmpeg -> Hindi channel ingest URL and stream key
Tamil job: playlist_tamil.txt -> FFmpeg -> Tamil channel ingest URL and stream key
This is an architecture sketch, not a tested deployment or a complete FFmpeg command. Build each command around the media formats and encoder settings you actually use. Inspect and, where necessary, normalize the source files before putting them on a schedule. Test each destination with a private or unlisted broadcast before relying on it for a public schedule.

Set up two independent jobs
- Create channel-specific broadcasts. In Live Control Room, schedule one stream for the Hindi channel and a separate one for the Tamil channel. For API scheduling, use the appropriate channel-owner-authorized context and create or bind that channel’s resources.
- Organize the media separately. Store Hindi and Tamil files in distinct directories and maintain a separate concat list for each. Verify the order and filenames in both lists before starting either encoder.
- Protect credentials. Keep each stream key in a separate secret file or protected service environment, not in a script committed to source control. Restrict access and avoid including keys in public logs, screenshots or diagnostic output.
- Run separate services. Give each job its own working directory, service definition, logs and restart policy. That makes it easier to identify which channel failed and reduces the chance that editing one job changes the other’s playlist or destination.
- Plan for simultaneous load. Size the VPS for both jobs running at once. Actual CPU, memory, network and storage needs depend on whether FFmpeg is encoding or simply sending prepared media, as well as resolution, codec, bitrate and file storage. The cited platform and FFmpeg documentation does not specify minimum VPS requirements or validate a particular provider plan.
- Verify start and recovery behavior. Confirm each job points to the intended channel, then test its schedule and restart behavior. For Studio, check whether the broadcast requires a manual Go live action. For API-managed schedules, handle the relevant broadcast state transitions in your application. Add alerts or retries if a missed start needs attention; do not assume a process restart alone will publish the intended broadcast.
Use the FFmpeg documentation that matches the version installed on the VPS; its online documentation is regenerated nightly, so interface details can change. See FFmpeg documentation.
Keep the two schedules from interfering
- Before each scheduled start, confirm the Hindi job has the Hindi playlist and destination, and the Tamil job has the Tamil playlist and destination.
- Keep stream keys, channel authorization, broadcast IDs and logs separate. Never paste credentials into a shared troubleshooting message.
- Check that both processes can run concurrently without exhausting the VPS’s CPU, disk or network capacity. No specific minimum capacity is established here.
- Decide what should happen after a crash or missed start: restart the encoder, alert an operator, or both. A restarted encoder may still need the correct scheduled broadcast and YouTube start behavior.
- Review the current YouTube Studio controls and the API behavior used by your implementation; UI labels and API details can change.
Troubleshooting common failures
| Symptom | Likely check | Practical fix |
|---|---|---|
| The wrong language’s video appears on a channel. | Playlist path, working directory, destination stream key and service environment. | Stop the affected job, correct its playlist or channel configuration, and test privately before resuming the schedule. |
| The encoder sends data but viewers cannot see a live broadcast. | Whether the correct channel broadcast is scheduled, whether Studio requires Go live, and whether the encoder is using that channel’s ingest details. | Verify the stream preview and broadcast state in Studio, or check the API-created and bound resources for that channel. |
| A playlist skips, glitches or develops timestamp problems at a file boundary. | Whether its files have compatible streams, codecs and time bases, and whether duration information is accurate. | Inspect and normalize the files, correct the concat list and test the full sequence before the next scheduled stream. |
| One channel’s restart or edit affects the other. | Shared scripts, directories, environment variables, logs or service controls. | Separate the jobs’ working directories, secrets, service definitions and restart policies. |
| Both jobs become unstable when they overlap. | Concurrent CPU, memory, storage and network use, especially if both streams are being encoded. | Measure the actual workload and adjust the VPS capacity or encoding approach; no universal VPS minimum is established by the cited sources. |
