Check the playlist in the cloud playout service first: remove any unintended duplicate entries, then review the order. If the list is correct but each pass feels too predictable, enable shuffle if your service offers it—but shuffle is not a guaranteed no-repeat setting. If repetition appears only for one viewer, check YouTube’s watch-page repeat control instead; that control does not change the broadcaster’s cloud playlist.
First identify where the repeat happens
A YouTube watch-page player and a cloud playout playlist are separate parts of the setup. A viewer can loop a video or playlist in YouTube’s player, while the cloud service chooses which media item is sent into the live broadcast. YouTube’s encoder setup describes sending a server URL and stream key from an encoder, and its Live Streaming API distinguishes a broadcast from the stream used to transmit audio-video content; neither describes controls for deduplicating a third-party playlist.
- Only one viewer sees the repeat: check that viewer’s YouTube repeat setting. YouTube documents repeat controls on computers, mobile devices, TVs, and consoles. YouTube Help: repeat videos or playlists.
- The live output itself repeats the item: inspect the cloud playout service’s active playlist and current/next item view, if available. The issue may be in the source playlist or its playback order.
Changing a viewer’s repeat control will not edit the broadcaster’s cloud playlist. Likewise, the cited YouTube documentation does not identify a YouTube Studio setting that edits a third-party playout playlist. Audit the cloud playlist for duplicate entries
- Open the playlist in the service that supplies your live stream—not the YouTube watch page.
- Search the full list for repeated titles or files, including entries that are not next to each other. A video can appear more than once in a playlist; in playout.video, for example, items play from top to bottom and the same video may be added multiple times. Playout.video playlist management.
- Remove only the unintended copies, then review the remaining order. If duplicates are deliberate, leave them in place and consider whether a different sequence is what you want to change.
- Check the service’s current or next item view, if it provides one, and confirm the edit after the next transition. In playout.video, playlist changes take effect at the next video transition; that timing is specific to that service.
Choose between fixed order, intentional repeats, and shuffle

Verify the fix at the next transition
After editing, watch the live output through a transition and compare it with the active playlist or current/next display. Confirm that an accidental duplicate is gone from the sequence. If the cloud playlist advances as expected but a particular viewer still sees repetition, return to that viewer’s YouTube repeat control rather than changing the source list.
