Schedule the video in YouTube Studio, then edit the playlist separately—or schedule a Community post to announce it.
What you can schedule—and what you must change yourself
YouTube’s scheduled publishing feature applies to an individual video: it lets you schedule a private video to become public at a specific time. Playlist management is a separate action; YouTube documents adding and reordering videos, but its checked guidance does not describe a timed playlist-membership or ordering change.
That means the right workflow depends on what you mean by “change”:
- Release a devotional video at midnight: schedule that video in YouTube Studio.
- Change which videos a playlist contains, or their order: edit the playlist separately. Do not assume the playlist will update automatically when a scheduled video becomes public.
- Tell viewers about the change at midnight: schedule a Community post with the playlist link. The post announces the playlist; it does not edit it.

Schedule a video for midnight IST
- Open the upload workflow. In YouTube Studio, upload the devotional video or open the relevant upload workflow. YouTube’s computer upload guide covers selecting a video, its visibility, and playlist options: Upload YouTube videos – Computer.
- Choose scheduled publishing. Set the video’s visibility to Scheduled, then select the date and time it should become public.
- Set the intended timezone and date. If YouTube Studio offers a timezone selector, select India Standard Time (IST). Enter 00:00 for midnight on the target date and confirm the displayed date as well as the time.
- Use the UTC conversion only as a cross-check. IST is UTC+05:30, so 00:00 IST is 18:30 UTC on the preceding calendar date. This is a timezone conversion, not a separate YouTube scheduling setting. If you are working from UTC, make sure you use the previous date.
- Save the schedule and verify it in Studio. Check the scheduled date, time, and timezone shown for the video before relying on it.
Change the playlist separately
After scheduling the video, open the playlist in YouTube and make the membership or ordering change you want. YouTube’s playlist guidance describes manual playlist management, including reordering videos; it does not document a way to schedule that edit to take effect later. The help page is titled for Android, so exact controls can vary by device: Create & manage playlists – Android.
If your plan depends on viewers seeing a new video in the playlist at midnight, verify that it is public and that the playlist has been edited as intended. Scheduling publication and playlist editing are separate actions; one does not establish that the other will happen.

Why the watch-page date may look different
YouTube says a video’s watch-page publication date is based on Pacific Standard Time (PST). A video scheduled for midnight IST can therefore show a different calendar date on its watch page. Use the scheduled timestamp in YouTube Studio to verify the intended instant; do not treat the watch-page date by itself as evidence that the schedule is wrong. Schedule an announcement instead of a playlist edit
If your goal is to notify subscribers or viewers when the playlist changes, a scheduled Community post can include the playlist URL. This schedules the announcement, not the playlist update. YouTube’s instructions are here: Create a post – Computer.
