YouTube Studio can schedule uploads on each channel; a playlist’s order does not create a broadcast schedule. For scheduled playlist livestreams, you need a live-streaming workflow, such as a local encoder or a cloud service.
First decide what you want to schedule
Do you want separate upload calendars, or do you want each channel to broadcast a prerecorded playlist as a live stream? The answer determines the setup:
- Scheduled uploads: Each video becomes public at the date and time you choose. The schedule belongs to the video, not to playlist playback.
- Playlist livestreams: An encoder or cloud streaming service sends prerecorded video to YouTube as a live broadcast. This is separate from creating or reordering a normal YouTube playlist.
YouTube lets one Google Account manage multiple eligible channels connected to Brand Accounts, so you can switch channels without signing out. Confirm the active channel before saving each upload or live event.
Schedule separate video uploads in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and select the first channel from the account or channel switcher.
- Upload a video and enter its title, description, audience, and other details.
- In the Schedule card, choose the publication date, time, and time zone, then select Schedule.
- Repeat for the remaining videos. Before each save, check that Studio is still set to the channel you intend.
- Switch to the second channel and repeat the process for its videos and release times.
- To change a scheduled time, open the video in Studio’s Content area and edit its scheduled visibility settings.
A scheduled upload may remain private during a Community Guidelines strike penalty period; after the freeze, it needs to be rescheduled. Also note that YouTube bases the “Published on” date displayed on the watch page on Pacific time. For schedules set in time zones ahead of Pacific time, that displayed date can differ from the date shown in Studio.

Schedule prerecorded playlists as livestreams
A YouTube playlist is not itself a timed livestream. To broadcast prerecorded videos, create or select a YouTube live event and send it a live feed using an encoder on the PC or a cloud playlist-streaming service. YouTube identifies an encoder as a live-streaming method, including for streams using overlays, gameplay, or hardware inputs.
Using an encoder on the PC
- For each channel, create or select the appropriate YouTube live event and use that channel’s stream settings and stream key in the encoder.
- Configure the encoder to play the intended prerecorded video or playlist and send the feed to the matching event.
- Set up any local automation separately. Scheduling a YouTube event does not, by itself, launch an encoder on your computer.
- Test the complete process on the target PC and network before relying on it to start unattended. If both streams overlap, check encoder capacity, available upload bandwidth, and connection stability; no universal PC specification or simultaneous-stream guarantee is established here.
Some tools have product-specific scheduling controls. For example, Switcher Studio’s documentation says that for its workflow, a stream created directly on YouTube needs Enable Auto-start and Enable Auto-stop enabled if you expect YouTube to start and stop it automatically. It also describes selecting an existing scheduled YouTube stream. Those are Switcher-specific instructions, not a universal requirement for every encoder.

Using a cloud playlist service
Restream documents a cloud Playlist feature for turning videos into a scheduled broadcast and providing a YouTube event link. Its Help Center describes the feature as requiring an Upload & Stream add-on tier, with a maximum of 40 videos and 24 hours per playlist. It also says videos cannot be reordered after a playlist goes live and that channel pairing is unavailable for prerecorded events. Set up each destination as required; do not assume one paired event will operate both channels independently. Feature limits and plan terms can change.

Check before you rely on the schedule
- The wrong channel is selected: Verify the channel identity in Studio before scheduling an upload or configuring a live event.
- A playlist is not broadcasting: Playlist ordering and scheduled video publishing do not start a live feed. Use an encoder or a cloud playlist-streaming workflow for a prerecorded livestream.
- A scheduled event does not start the PC software: Configure and test the encoder’s launch and playback automation separately; the YouTube event schedule alone does not prove the local process will start.
- The watch page shows a different publication date: Compare the Studio time zone with the Pacific-time basis YouTube uses for the displayed “Published on” date.
- A scheduled upload stays private: Check whether a Community Guidelines strike penalty freeze applies, then reschedule after the freeze ends.
- Two live streams overlap: Test both feeds under the intended conditions and verify the PC can encode them and the connection can sustain their combined upload demand. There is no universal capacity figure.
Copyright and channel rules still apply
Scheduling or looping a video does not change its rights status or make it compliant with YouTube’s rules. Use content you own or are authorized to broadcast, including music and other material embedded in a video, and review YouTube’s copyright and Community Guidelines requirements before setting a recurring schedule. Repeatedly broadcasting reused material may also raise monetization-policy questions; scheduling is not a guarantee of monetization eligibility.
