Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →To run a devotional stream around the clock with different programming each day, create and organize the daily playlists, then use an encoder or a hosted scheduler to send the chosen playlist to a YouTube live broadcast. A playlist organizes videos; it does not by itself create a livestream or switch the stream to a new playlist on a timetable.
How the pieces fit together
Think of the setup as a content library and a delivery system. YouTube Studio playlists help you arrange videos, while a stream feed carries video to YouTube and a live broadcast is the event viewers watch. YouTube’s official [Live Streaming API concepts](https://developers.google.com/youtube/v3/live/docs) describes a 24/7 pattern in which a continuing feed can be associated with separate broadcasts. The feed still needs an encoder or scheduling service to deliver content and rotate it; YouTube does not automatically change ordinary playlists every day.
For a devotional schedule, prepare recorded video or audio-video segments, arrange them into playlists, and decide how each day’s selection reaches the live feed. For example, a weekly schedule might use playlists named “Monday Morning Prayer,” “Tuesday Scripture Reflection,” and “Sunday Worship.” Keep a separate schedule showing when each selection should begin and end.
Choose how to deliver the playlists
Self-managed encoder
An encoder-based setup gives you direct control over the feed and schedule, but you are responsible for operating and monitoring the encoder and providing an ongoing feed. YouTube’s API documentation describes the distinction between the stream carrying the feed and the broadcast viewers watch; a continuing broadcast does not supply the program content on its own.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Hosted playlist scheduler
A hosted service can deliver pre-recorded content without requiring a local encoder to run continuously, but its plan and transition limits matter. OneStream Live documents a 24/7 YouTube workflow that requires its Enterprise plan and has a maximum duration of 30 days. Restream documents scheduled pre-recorded playlists on paid Upload & Stream tiers: playlists can run up to 24 hours and include up to 40 videos. Restream also says back-to-back playlists are separate streams with a two-minute buffer, so that workflow does not establish a gap-free 24/7 handoff. Check current vendor limits before committing to a schedule.

Build the daily devotional schedule
- Decide what is on air. Choose pre-recorded content, live content, or a mix. Check that your delivery service supports the intended mix; Restream says its playlist feature cannot combine live and pre-recorded content in the same playlist.
- Create one playlist for each day or theme. In YouTube Studio, create and manage playlists, add the relevant videos, and arrange their order. Use consistent names and descriptions so the operator can identify the correct playlist quickly.
- Make a master schedule. Record the playlist, start time, intended duration, and handoff for each day. A playlist is an organizational layer, not a daily automation rule; configure the encoder or scheduler to deliver the selected content.
- Choose the delivery workflow. Use an encoder when you need hands-on control and can keep the feed running, or a hosted scheduler when its runtime, plan, storage, and transition limits suit the schedule.
- Test the handoff between daily blocks. Check that the next selection starts as intended and that the transition does not produce a gap, black screen, unintended restart, or wrong playlist. Test the actual schedule before relying on it for continuous programming.
- Decide how viewers should watch and what happens afterward. Consider whether viewers can use DVR controls and whether you need an archive. YouTube exposes archive and DVR settings. Google’s live-production guidance says streams up to 12 hours automatically become VOD; for streams longer than 12 hours, record separately and upload manually if you need an archive.
Plan music rights before going live
A license for congregational singing or lyric display does not necessarily authorize a 24/7 recorded music stream. Google advises confirming clearances for the livestream, rebroadcast, and on-demand audio or video, including whether performance rights cover live use, archive use, or both. Video may require permission from the relevant copyright owners as well.
CCLI’s US information distinguishes its Streaming License, which covers authorized worship music performed live during online services, from Streaming Plus, which extends coverage to authorized master recordings and multitracks. CCLI says its streaming license can cover an archive while the license remains active, but its license does not grant song monetization or revenue-sharing rights. Its catalog and terms do not settle rights for every song, recording, territory, video, archive period, or monetization arrangement. Confirm the exact uses and covered works with the relevant rights provider before streaming.

Compare the practical trade-offs
| Decision | Self-managed encoder | Hosted scheduled playlist |
|---|---|---|
| Content control | The operator configures and monitors the encoder and schedule. | The vendor handles scheduled pre-recorded delivery, subject to service limits. |
| Continuous runtime | YouTube documents a continuing broadcast with no scheduled end time, but the operator must supply an ongoing feed. | OneStream Live documents a 24/7 feature capped at 30 days and requiring Enterprise. Restream documents playlists up to 24 hours, with a two-minute buffer between back-to-back streams. |
| Local equipment | An encoder is part of the self-managed architecture; exact hardware requirements depend on the setup. | A hosted service can avoid a continuously running local encoder for pre-recorded content. Check storage, duration, and plan limits. |
| Archive | Archive and DVR behavior depend on broadcast settings. For streams longer than 12 hours, Google’s guidance says to record separately for manual upload if a VOD is needed. | Confirm whether the service and plan create an archive that meets your rights and retention requirements; the cited service documentation does not establish that for every plan. |
| Music rights | Determine permissions for each song and recording and for live, rebroadcast, and archive use. | The hosted platform does not itself grant rights to worship music; confirm licensing independently. |

Common problems and fixes
- A playlist exists, but nothing is live: A YouTube playlist does not create or feed a broadcast. Configure an encoder or scheduler to send its content to the live feed.
- The daily changeover has a gap: Verify the schedule and handoff behavior in your delivery service. Restream documents a two-minute buffer between back-to-back playlist streams, so it may not suit a gap-free handoff.
- The wrong playlist is playing: Check the master schedule, playlist names, and the selection configured in the encoder or scheduler.
- The stream ends before the intended run: Check the service’s duration cap and plan. OneStream Live’s documented 24/7 feature ends at a maximum of 30 days; Restream’s documented playlist limit is 24 hours.
- There is no usable archive: Review YouTube’s archive and DVR settings. For a stream longer than 12 hours, separately record and manually upload if you need a VOD.
- Music is claimed, blocked, or unavailable for the intended use: Recheck permissions for the specific song, recording, territory, live use, rebroadcast, video, and archive. Do not assume a performance or lyric-display license covers every use.
