How to Schedule a Livepush Stream to Start at a Specific Time on YouTube

For an automatic start, schedule uploaded video in Livepush with a YouTube destination and the intended date, time, and time zone. A YouTube Live Event alone does not start a feed.

To start a finished video automatically at a chosen time, create a pre-recorded stream schedule in Livepush, select YouTube as the destination, and set the date, time, and time zone. Livepush says its cloud servers start the broadcast at the scheduled moment, so your computer does not need to stay on. This is different from scheduling a YouTube Live Event, which sets up the event but does not, by itself, start an encoder or supply a video feed.

Choose the right scheduling workflow

Use Livepush’s pre-recorded scheduling workflow if you have uploaded video and want it to begin unattended at a particular time. Use a YouTube Live Event with a Livepush destination if you are sending a feed through an encoder or RTMP configuration. These are separate controls: scheduling the YouTube event does not automatically schedule Livepush cloud playout.

Schedule a pre-recorded video to start automatically

  1. Enable YouTube live streaming. Make sure live streaming is enabled on your channel before setting up the destination. Livepush says activation for a new channel can take up to 24 hours, according to its 2025 help guidance, so do not leave channel eligibility until the scheduled start is near.
  2. Open Livepush’s Pre-recorded Live dashboard. Upload the video file or files you want to broadcast.
  3. Create a stream schedule and choose YouTube. Select the intended YouTube destination and save the schedule. Choose “Start Immediately” only if you want the stream to begin now rather than at a later time.
  4. Set the start date, time, and time zone. Check the displayed time zone against the one you intend to use. Livepush’s scheduling page says its servers begin the broadcast at the scheduled moment, even if your computer is off.
  5. Review the destination and schedule before airtime. Confirm the selected channel, date, time, and zone in your account. Livepush’s published guidance does not specify an exact start-time tolerance, daylight-saving handling, or what happens after a last-minute schedule edit, so avoid relying on an undocumented timing edge case.

Livepush describes this feature as cloud scheduling for uploaded video, with a date, time, and time-zone selection. Its official page states: “In the Livepush dashboard, set your preferred date and time for the stream to start.” See Livepush’s pre-recorded live streaming feature.

Set up a YouTube Live Event destination in Livepush

Connect your YouTube account

  1. In the Livepush stream dashboard, add a YouTube destination.
  2. Sign in to YouTube and select the channel you want to use.
  3. Choose “New Live Event,” enter the event title and description, set its privacy, and save the destination.
  4. Turn on the destination and start the stream when you are ready to send the feed.

This is destination setup for an event and feed. The help guide does not describe it as an automatic scheduled start for uploaded video. Livepush’s connected-account instructions are in its YouTube live streaming setup guide.

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Use a manual RTMP key

  1. In YouTube Studio, open the live room, choose Manage, then choose Schedule Stream.
  2. Create the event and enter its details and scheduled time.
  3. Copy the event’s RTMP stream key from YouTube Studio.
  4. Return to Livepush, configure the YouTube destination with that key, and save it.

When the channel is not linked, Livepush says the manual process must be repeated for each event. With this setup, YouTube live comments are not shown in Livepush Multi chat overlay. For the documented steps, see Livepush’s YouTube live streaming guide.

What YouTube event scheduling does—and does not do

YouTube’s broadcast data includes a scheduled start time and an auto-start property, but those event settings should not be confused with a running encoder or a video feed. Creating a YouTube event prepares the event; the feed still needs to be sent through the chosen workflow. YouTube’s API reference documents the broadcast properties at LiveBroadcasts: insert.

Timing checks and common problems

  • The stream does not start at the intended time: Check the saved date, time, time zone, and selected YouTube destination. The published scheduling information does not promise a particular second-level start tolerance.
  • The channel is not available as a destination: Confirm YouTube live streaming is enabled. Livepush says new-channel activation can take up to 24 hours; allow for that setup period.
  • You scheduled an event but no video is being sent: A YouTube event schedule is not a feed. For an uploaded-video start, create a Livepush pre-recorded schedule; for an encoder/RTMP workflow, connect the destination and start sending the feed.
  • You need to change a schedule near airtime: Livepush’s published guidance does not establish how last-minute edits are handled. Verify the current schedule in your dashboard rather than assuming an edit has taken effect.
  • You use a manual RTMP key: Confirm you copied the key for the correct event. The manual workflow is event-specific and must be set up again for another event.
