Phantasmal Flames launched on November 14, 2025, so it is no longer an upcoming preorder. If you are shopping now, compare the standard Elite Trainer Box, the Pokémon Center version, and the 36-pack Booster Display Box—and check each retailer’s live listing for stock and delivered price.
When did Phantasmal Flames release?
The Pokémon TCG expansion Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames launched on November 14, 2025. The Pokémon Company International’s official product listing gives that date for the Elite Trainer Box, and its news announcement describes the expansion as available. Any listing still using preorder language should be checked carefully: it may refer to a different item, region, or seller rather than an upcoming original launch.
Which Phantasmal Flames product should you buy?
| Product | Booster packs | What else is included | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Elite Trainer Box | 9 | Full-art foil Charcadet promo, 65 card sleeves, 40 Energy cards, player’s guide, dice, coin, collector box with six dividers, and a Pokémon TCG Live code card. Contents listed by The Pokémon Company International. | A play-and-storage bundle with accessories as well as packs. |
| Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box | 11 | Includes the standard ETB extras, with additional packs and special promo items according to the Pokémon Center product listing. | Collectors who specifically want the Pokémon Center variant and its exclusive distinction. |
| Booster Display Box | 36 | The cited Pokémon Center category listing identifies the pack count; other included contents are not stated there. See the Pokémon Center category listing. | Buyers prioritizing a larger quantity of packs over ETB accessories. |
Compare the current total price, including shipping and taxes, rather than judging by pack count alone. The official descriptions name Mega Charizard X ex, Mega Gengar ex, Mega Heracross ex, and Mega Lopunny ex among the expansion’s highlights; they do not guarantee any particular card in an individual product.
What is different about the Pokémon Center ETB?
The clearest stated difference is pack count: the Pokémon Center version has 11 booster packs, two more than the standard ETB’s nine. Pokémon Center also describes its version as including special promo items and the standard ETB extras. Check the live listing for the exact variant details and availability before buying; an old product page does not establish that it is currently in stock.

How to check availability and preorder terms
Availability and prices change, and the available official listings do not establish current stock or today’s prices at any retailer. Treat retailer names and search results as places to check—not as confirmation that a product is available. Confirm the seller, product condition, shipping charge, taxes, and return terms on the checkout page.
- Open the retailer’s current product page for the exact product and variant you want.
- Confirm that the listing names Phantasmal Flames, shows the expected pack count, and identifies the seller. For marketplace listings, check who fulfills the order and whether the product is new and sealed.
- Review the delivered total and estimated shipping details before placing the order. Do not rely on an old displayed price or assume a listing is preorderable because it once offered preorders.
Pokémon Center’s Preorder FAQ, updated August 13, 2026, says preorder-eligible item pages show “Preorder: Add to Cart/Basket.” It requires a valid credit or debit card; an initial authorization may drop after 5–7 business days, the charge is taken when the order ships, and a reauthorization may occur 3–5 business days before shipping. These are general Pokémon Center terms, not evidence that a Phantasmal Flames item is currently open for preorder. The FAQ also warns that shipping and delivery timing is not exact and can be affected by transit delays.

Pack counts and listed accessories help compare sealed products, but they do not establish pull rates, the odds of finding a particular card, current market premiums, or investment performance. Choose based on the product contents and price you can verify, not an assumed guaranteed hit or future resale value.
