If your CameraFi Live YouTube stream’s audio is out of sync, enable Audio Sync in the app’s Settings > Labs, then use the + or − controls from the microphone icon to adjust it. Make small changes and test again. First check whether the problem affects the live stream, the saved broadcast, or both: CameraFi warns that using Audio Sync on YouTube may cause a problem in the saved video.
Check where and when the sync problem happens
Before changing a setting, compare the live playback with the saved YouTube broadcast. Note whether speech is ahead of the picture or behind it, and whether the mismatch is present from the start or grows over time. This helps distinguish a consistent offset from drift that develops during the stream; it does not, by itself, identify the cause.
- Live and saved video: The adjustment may help the live stream, but check the archive before relying on it. CameraFi warns that YouTube’s saved video may have a problem after Audio Sync is used.
- Saved video only: Do not assume a live adjustment is the right fix for an archive. YouTube’s guidance about matching audio and video track durations concerns uploaded files, not a control for correcting CameraFi Live streams.
- One audio source only: If practical, make a short test with another available audio input to see whether the mismatch follows the source.
Adjust CameraFi Live’s Audio Sync setting
- In CameraFi Live, open the hamburger menu and tap Settings.
- Under Labs, enable Audio Sync.
- Return to the main screen and tap the microphone icon.
- Use the + or − controls to adjust synchronization. Change it incrementally rather than making a large jump.
- Run a short test and check the timing in live playback. If needed, make another small adjustment and test again.
- After the broadcast, inspect the saved YouTube video too. CameraFi says Audio Sync can cause a problem with the saved video on YouTube, and notes that the adjustment also applies to audio in a VIDEO3 recorded file.
These menu labels and steps come from CameraFi’s 2020 instructions, which describe Labs as a place to try features before official release. The app’s interface or feature availability may have changed; CameraFi’s official FAQ still links to an Audio Sync tutorial. If you cannot find the controls, check the installed app’s current help materials rather than assuming the feature is available in every version. CameraFi Live instructions
Test the audio input before changing equipment
CameraFi’s Android guide documents built-in, wired, Bluetooth, USB-camera, and recorded audio inputs. If you can do so without disrupting a broadcast, compare a brief test using a different available input. If the mismatch changes, note which source was active; this is a way to isolate the issue, not evidence that any one type of input necessarily causes sync problems.

Buying a microphone, camera, capture device, or adapter is not the documented general fix for this symptom. Consider equipment only if separate testing points to a source or connection problem.
If the controls do not fix it
- Confirm whether the problem is live, archived, or both, and whether it is a steady offset or gets worse over time.
- Note the active audio and video sources. If practical, compare a short test with another audio input.
- Check that you are following instructions that match your installed CameraFi Live version. CameraFi’s release notes list a per-audio-source sync feature in Android v1.32.37.603, released June 7, 2022, and also list later Android and iOS entries. Those notes do not establish which version is current for your device or whether its menus match the 2020 instructions. CameraFi release notes
- Contact CameraFi at [email protected]. Include your phone model, operating system, CameraFi Live version, audio and video sources, whether audio leads or lags, when the mismatch begins, and whether it affects live playback, the saved video, or both. When YouTube’s upload advice applies
If the problem is in an already edited file that you uploaded, YouTube says to make sure the durations of the audio and video tracks are the same and recommends editing the tracks before upload. This advice is for uploaded media; it is not a CameraFi Live setting or a fix for synchronization during a live stream. YouTube Help: Fix audio and video sync issues
