The right choice depends on whether the exact plan can encode your scene continuously, sustain a reliable route to YouTube, and provide enough outbound transfer—not just whether it advertises an India location or a 1 Gbps port. The strongest approach is to compare verified plan details, then test your intended OBS setup before relying on a long broadcast.
What makes a VPS suitable for OBS streaming?
A VPS has to do two different jobs: render and encode the OBS output, then send that stream reliably to YouTube. A plan that meets YouTube’s bitrate recommendation may still lack the CPU or compatible hardware encoder to produce that bitrate. Conversely, a high-speed port does not establish sustained throughput, low packet loss, adequate monthly transfer, or a good route to YouTube ingest.
OBS load depends on the encoder, resolution, frame rate, scene complexity, filters and sources. Do not infer OBS performance from a vCPU count alone, or assume a VPS exposes a compatible GPU encoder just because the physical host has a GPU. OBS documents NVIDIA NVENC, AMD AMF and Intel Quick Sync support with hardware and platform qualifications; its guidance says hardware encoders can move work from the CPU to a specialized GPU component. OBS Project: Hardware Encoding.
If you plan to use x264 software encoding, capacity depends on the preset and the actual scene as well as resolution and frame rate. The available provider information does not include reproducible OBS benchmarks for Indian VPS plans, so a plan’s specifications cannot stand in for a test.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set the YouTube target before comparing plans
YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension to RTMP. Its live encoder guidance recommends a two-second keyframe interval, which should not exceed four seconds; constant bitrate (CBR); and a quality your connection can support reliably. The guidance supports RTMP/RTMPS and H.264, H.265 or AV1, up to 60 fps. Codec recommendations differ, so do not apply an H.264 bitrate to another codec as though the values were interchangeable. YouTube Help: Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
| H.264 output | YouTube-recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 6 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 14 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 17 Mbps |
These are YouTube ingest recommendations, not VPS CPU/GPU requirements or guarantees of network reliability. YouTube advises testing beforehand with audio and motion similar to the planned broadcast, running an upload-speed test, choosing a quality the connection can reliably sustain, and monitoring stream health during the event. Check YouTube’s current encoder guidance when configuring a different codec or output.

Provider comparison: what can be verified
The available official plan detail is not broad enough to rank several Indian VPS providers fairly. Hostinger’s India VPS page lists concrete KVM plan specifications, but does not establish Windows licensing, GPU or encoder availability, sustained OBS performance, or route quality to YouTube. An India-region aggregator lists other providers as candidates, but that listing is not primary confirmation of current regions, product eligibility, pricing, or plan details. Treat those names as leads to verify, not as a tested shortlist.

The same page advertises a 1 Gbps network and AMD EPYC processors. Those headline specifications do not say whether a particular plan can sustain your OBS workload or route consistently to YouTube. Ask the provider about the exact configuration, including CPU sharing or limits, Windows availability and license charge, GPU passthrough or virtual GPU access, outbound traffic metering and overage costs.

How to choose and test a plan
- Define the actual broadcast. Decide whether OBS must render a game, camera, overlays, browser sources and filters, or whether the stream is a simpler scene. Fix the intended resolution, frame rate, codec and encoder before asking for specifications.
- Verify the exact location and operating system. Confirm the data-center city for the plan and whether it supports the OS you need. If using Windows, ask whether a Windows license is included and how it is billed; do not assume it is.
- Confirm encoding resources. Ask whether CPU resources are dedicated or shared, what sustained CPU limits apply, and whether the virtual machine has compatible GPU encoder access. Get the encoder model and supported OBS configuration in writing where possible.
- Compare transfer, not just port speed. Check monthly outbound transfer allowance, how it is metered, the overage or egress price, and whether the advertised port rate is shared or burstable. Estimate traffic from your chosen bitrate and streaming hours, then leave margin for protocol overhead and other outbound traffic.
- Run a representative test. Configure OBS for the intended scene and output, stream privately or unlisted, and test audio and motion similar to the real broadcast. Watch OBS statistics and YouTube stream health for dropped frames, encoding lag, connection instability and audio problems. A brief successful test is useful but does not prove that a plan will remain stable indefinitely.
- Check operational recovery. Find out how to restart OBS or the VPS after a crash, whether you can access the console remotely, and what support coverage exists. Test the recovery steps before depending on a long-running stream.
When a VPS is the wrong fit for continuous playback
A VPS running OBS makes sense when the stream needs a live OBS scene or when you need the control of a self-managed computer. If the task is simply to play uploaded prerecorded videos continuously, a purpose-built cloud playback workflow may fit better than maintaining a virtual machine and OBS. Verify the service’s capabilities and YouTube-only or other platform support directly before choosing it.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is #1 for the narrower job of keeping uploaded videos live on YouTube: it loops from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a first day free with no card. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing needs to stay running at home; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, then Monthly is $9.99 per month. For a prerecorded YouTube loop, start the free day with StreamNeo.

Common problems and fixes
- OBS reports encoding lag: the selected encoder cannot keep up with the scene and output settings. Test a simpler scene, lower the resolution or frame rate, or use a compatible hardware encoder if the VPS exposes one. Do not assume adding vCPUs alone will solve a software-encoding bottleneck.
- YouTube reports dropped frames or an unstable connection: the route or available upload capacity may be insufficient. Test the route and sustained throughput from the exact VPS, reduce output bitrate or quality, and review transfer limits and provider network terms.
- The stream starts but stops later: investigate OBS crashes, VPS restarts, transfer exhaustion, process supervision and reconnect behavior. Establish a remote restart procedure and check provider alerts and YouTube stream health.
- The bitrate fits but video still looks poor: bitrate does not compensate for an encoder that cannot render the scene cleanly, or for an unsuitable codec/output setup. Match the encoder configuration to YouTube’s current guidance and test motion similar to the actual broadcast.
- A GPU encoder option is missing: the VPS may not expose compatible GPU hardware or drivers to the guest OS. Confirm GPU access and driver support with the provider; host hardware alone is not proof of availability to your virtual machine.
Copyright and YouTube channel considerations
A VPS or cloud loop does not grant rights to music, video, game footage or other material in the stream. Use content you own or are authorized to broadcast, and review YouTube’s current copyright and live-stream policies before scheduling a long broadcast. Repeated or reused prerecorded material may also affect a channel’s eligibility or monetization under YouTube’s policies; assess the specific content and channel rather than assuming that uninterrupted playback is automatically permitted.
