Build for a job, not a supposed Chaos Siege “meta”: Patch 15 does not publish a best class, class-specific Siege loadouts, or comparative performance results. Choose the role you want to fill, then match your perks and weapons to its range, squad utility, and survivability. Check which classes and gear are actually selectable in-game before committing to a specific recipe.
What Chaos Siege asks your build to do
Chaos PvE Siege arrived in the October 1, 2026 Anniversary Update II for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. Focus Entertainment describes a mode where players take the role of Chaos Space Marines. Its announcement mentions two new Siege sectors on Avarax and fights involving Tyranids, Cadians, and Loyalist Space Marines. The detailed Patch 15 notes focus on the new Hive map: Heretic Astartes defend key locations and attempt rituals, supported by Cultists and a Helbrute as they fight Hive Fleet forces and Loyalists. Focus Entertainment’s update announcement and the Patch 15 notes describe the mode from different angles; neither gives a class-by-class build guide.
Use that encounter as context, not as proof that one weapon or class is best. A practical build should cover the work you want to do in your squad: sustained ranged damage, close-range fighting, staying armored, or helping teammates through class perks. The recommendations below are role-based ways to think about those choices, not tested Siege rankings.
Choose your role before your perks
Ranged damage
If you want to contribute at range, prioritize a weapon and perk setup that support reliable damage at the distances where you expect to fight. Patch 15 changed PvE weapon balance, so older damage assumptions may no longer hold. The update raised base PvE damage for a range of primary weapons, but it did not identify a best weapon for Siege.

Close-combat pressure
If you prefer fighting up close, treat weapon access and opportunity cost as part of the build. Tactical can equip a Power Sword, Power Axe, or One-Handed Thunder Hammer in Patch 15, but selecting one prevents Tactical from equipping a primary weapon. That is a real range and loadout trade-off, not a free melee upgrade. The announcement also lists the One-Handed Thunder Hammer for Tactical, Assault, Bulwark, and Techmarine; confirm the mode’s available choices in-game.
Armor and squad support
For a more durable or team-oriented setup, look for perks that affect armor recovery, Auspex, or squad damage, where available to your class. Patch 15 added Tactical perk choices touching Auspex damage, charges, radius, and duration, squad melee damage, and an option to replace the secondary weapon with a primary Bolt Rifle. These are possible directions for a build; the notes do not claim that any one is optimal in Chaos Siege.

Update Tactical builds for Patch 15
Older Tactical perk guides need a fresh look. Patch 15 reworked the class’s perk tree, including its starting perk and the former Kraken Penetrator Rounds slot:
- Starting perk: bolt weapons gain one additional penetration, and Bolter weapons deal 20% more non-headshot damage. The 20% is a developer-published perk value, not an independent Siege performance result.
- Former Kraken Penetrator Rounds slot: Kraken Penetrator Rounds moved into the starting perk. The slot now offers Armour Reinforcement, which restores one armour segment on non-finisher Gun Strikes.
- Other new choices: options affect Auspex damage, charges, radius, or duration; squad melee damage; and replacing the secondary with a primary Bolt Rifle.
Pick among these based on the job you want Tactical to perform. For example, Armour Reinforcement is relevant if you intend to use non-finisher Gun Strikes and value armor recovery; an Auspex-related choice makes more sense if you want to emphasize that ability. The patch notes establish the options, not which one will deliver the most value in Siege.

Account for Patch 15 weapon trade-offs
Patch 15 raised the base PvE damage of the Melta Rifle by 65% and the Heavy Melta Rifle by 60%, while also cutting their base ammunition capacities and making damage falloff more aggressive. Those changes matter when comparing close-range punch with ammunition economy and effectiveness at distance.

These are Focus Entertainment’s patch-note figures, not independent testing. They describe balance changes, not actual Siege damage results or a recommended loadout. Check your weapon’s current in-game stats and availability rather than carrying forward an older build assumption.

Use this practical build process
- Confirm what the mode lets you select. Check the in-game class and gear options for Chaos Siege. The official materials reviewed do not specify which classes are playable in the mode.
- Choose one squad job. Decide whether you are building around ranged damage, close combat, armor recovery, or support utility. Avoid trying to maximize every role at once.
- Match perks to the job. For Tactical, use the Patch 15 perk tree rather than copying an older setup. Check what each option does in-game and choose the effect that supports your intended role.
- Check the weapon opportunity cost. For Tactical, a Power Sword, Power Axe, or One-Handed Thunder Hammer means giving up the primary weapon. For Melta weapons, include their reduced base ammunition and more aggressive damage falloff in your decision.
- Review Siege-specific modifiers before locking in assumptions. Blessings and Atonements may change: Focus says it will revisit them in Patch 16. Treat guidance that depends on those systems as provisional.
What to revisit as Siege changes
Patch 15 is the relevant balance baseline for these suggestions, but it is not a permanent guarantee of the same build choices. Focus Entertainment said it would take another look at Siege Blessings and Atonements in Patch 16. If a build depends on either system, review the later patch notes and reassess its perks and weapons in-game rather than treating a Patch 15 recommendation as fixed.
