Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV is an upcoming Windows PC real-time strategy game from KING Art Games and Deep Silver, currently listed to launch on December 3, 2026. It is announced with four playable factions, four connected campaigns totaling more than 70 missions, solo and co-op campaign play, Skirmish, Last Stand, and competitive multiplayer. When does Dawn of War IV release, and what platforms are announced?
Deep Silver and the Steam listing currently give December 3, 2026 as the release date for Windows PC. The publisher says Commander Edition includes a three-day early unlock beginning November 30. Release dates and edition details can change, so check the Steam listing and Deep Silver’s official game page before buying.
The checked Steam listing says detailed system requirements are “Coming soon.” Until they are published, there is no official minimum or recommended PC specification to rely on.

What kind of gameplay does Dawn of War IV have?
Official descriptions present Dawn of War IV as a return to large-scale battles and base-building, with four factions built around different mechanics. The announced systems put emphasis on where structures and units are positioned, how forces match up, and when to spend resources on upgrades, abilities, or reinforcements.
The developer’s multiplayer AMA describes cover as reducing ranged damage, with different faction interactions: Orks can create cover, Adeptus Mechanicus can build structures that serve as garrisons, and Necrons do not use cover. Retreat lets units disengage or reposition while taking less incoming damage, but temporarily removes the player’s control of them. Reinforcing units in the field costs resources; the developers caution that extensive automatic reinforcement can drain the economy. Which factions are playable?
The four announced factions are Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and Adeptus Mechanicus. Space Marines include the Blood Ravens and a playable Dark Angels sub-faction. Adeptus Mechanicus is making its Dawn of War series debut. Games Workshop’s announcement

How does the campaign work, and can you play co-op?
Deep Silver describes four faction campaigns that feed into one overarching story. Games Workshop announced more than 70 campaign missions, playable solo or with a friend, and named Black Library author John French as the story’s author. What multiplayer modes and objectives are announced?
The official materials list competitive multiplayer, Skirmish, and Last Stand. Steam identifies online PvP and online co-op. KING Art Games’ July 2026 AMA describes three competitive match types:

Commanders and match settings
The developer says multiplayer commanders are generic faction units selected before a match, alongside faction and starting position. Match settings can make commanders starting units or disable them. KING Art Games has acknowledged the difficulty of balancing asymmetric factions and says it intends to use player data and feedback after launch; that is a development intention, not evidence of measured balance.
