You can’t control Gray Zone Warfare’s anti-cheat systems, but you can make suspected encounters easier to investigate: save clear video, send a factual report to MADFINGER Support, and choose PvE if you want to avoid player-versus-player encounters. A surprising death alone does not prove cheating, and MADFINGER does not promise a particular outcome or response time for individual reports.
How to report a suspected cheater
- Decide what the clip actually shows. A fast or unexpected kill may have an ordinary explanation. Record observable details and avoid presenting an unverified conclusion as fact.
- Preserve useful video. Include enough context to make the encounter understandable. Avoid edits that remove relevant moments; if you add narration or slow motion, keep the original clip too.
- Contact MADFINGER Support. Send the video with your report. MADFINGER’s support instructions do not specify an in-game report button or a response-time guarantee. MADFINGER’s reporting instructions say to upload a video file larger than 50 MB to YouTube as an Unlisted video and include its link in the report.
- Add concise context. If known, include the player identifier and approximate match or time context, then briefly describe what the video shows. This extra detail is practical advice, not a list of requirements published by MADFINGER.
The studio specifically asks for “conclusive video evidence” in its May 16, 2025 anti-cheat statement. Keep the report neutral: the clip and its context are more useful than an accusation made from an ambiguous death. Avoid public doxxing, harassment, or calls for mass reporting.
What MADFINGER has disclosed about anti-cheat
MADFINGER said it integrated Denuvo code obfuscation with the Winds of War update (0.3.0.0), intending to make game code harder for cheat engines to read and prevent cheats such as ESP and aimbots. The studio said this was not Denuvo DRM and did not add new kernel-level anti-cheat. It has also said it withholds further technical details so cheat developers cannot readily adapt. A March 18, 2026 developer devlog said Update 0.4 would improve wallhack detection and banning, with more improvements planned. That is a statement of developer plans, not evidence of a measured reduction in cheating. MADFINGER does not publish a game-wide cheating rate or report-success rate in these statements, and it does not guarantee that a report will result in action.

Cheating reports and exploit reports are not the same
In a September 18, 2026 security announcement, MADFINGER described an item-duplication exploit connected to particular helicopter-death circumstances in Update 0.4. The studio said a hotfix made the exploit no longer replicable, and that its investigation identified close to 40 deliberate exploiters; planned measures included temporary suspensions and account wipes. That figure concerns one investigated exploit incident. It is not a count of all cheaters, all bans, or the prevalence of cheating across the game.

The Update 0.5 announcement describes PvE and PvEvP character modes. PvE is the relevant option if you want to avoid player-versus-player encounters; choosing it is an exposure choice, not a stronger anti-cheat setting. The announcement says players choose a mode when transferring existing character progression and that the choice is irreversible. Check the current client and latest official announcements before making that decision, since mode rules can change.
