Yes—but not today. The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection launched on January 31, 2025, for Windows PC. They are sold separately, and EA also offered a bundle containing both. The collections are available digitally through the EA app, Epic Games Store, and Steam; the announcement is historical, not a new October 2026 release.
What was released, and where can you buy it?
EA released two PC collections on January 31, 2025. Each packages an original Sims game with its expansions and selected stuff packs. EA’s anniversary announcement named the EA app, Epic Games Store, and Steam as storefronts. These are digital PC releases; the available information does not establish a physical edition.

The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle contains both collections. At launch, EA’s suggested US retail prices were $19.99 for The Sims: Legacy Collection, $29.99 for The Sims 2: Legacy Collection, and $39.99 for the bundle. Those are launch prices, not current or worldwide prices. On October 4, 2026, the US EA store listed The Sims: Legacy Collection at $9.99, reduced from a $19.99 list price; that is a dated store snapshot, not a guaranteed ongoing offer. Check your regional store for current prices before comparing the bundle with separate purchases.

Will the rereleases run on your PC?
EA lists the following minimum requirements for both collections. Its release information describes them as modern-system rebuilds that preserve the original gameplay and graphics.

EA’s compatibility notes list Windows 10/11 support for both collections. The Sims collection uses Vulkan graphics and adds widescreen support and higher-quality textures on buildings and objects. The Sims 2 collection uses DirectX 9.c and includes fixes for some legacy and community-reported issues, such as black shadow boxes under Sims and pink neighborhood rendering. EA says it did not make fixes that posed major design risks. Can you bring back old saves or use mods?
EA says older saves for either game may work if they are not corrupted, but the rereleases use different save locations. You need to copy the old files to the new location using EA’s instructions. A corrupted save can lead to missing content, malfunction, or crashes.

Mods remain possible, but Maxis has not tested or officially supported mods for these versions. Compatibility is up to each mod’s creator, so an old mod should not be assumed to work.

Choose according to which original game and included packs you want, then compare current prices in your region. The bundle includes both collections, but launch prices or a temporary offer do not establish that it is the better deal today. Check the PC requirements separately before buying.
