Choose PC if you have hardware that meets the game’s requirements and want unlocked frame rates, ultrawide display support, and more graphics options. Choose PS5 if you already own the console, prefer a straightforward living-room setup, or value its DualSense integration. There is no verified apples-to-apples benchmark establishing that one version performs better in every situation.

Does the PC version perform better?
Not as a universal rule. PlayStation advertises unlocked frame rates and publishes PC hardware targets, but those are not a controlled comparison with PS5. A PC’s results depend on its components, resolution, graphics settings, and use of supported upscaling or frame-generation options. The reviewed PlayStation Store listing identifies PS5 Pro Enhanced support without giving a comparable set of performance figures.
PlayStation’s PC requirements page gives targets of 60 FPS at 1080p on Low settings for minimum hardware and 60 FPS at 1440p on Medium settings for recommended hardware. These are publisher targets, not independently reproduced benchmarks. The PlayStation Blog announcement also surfaced average-performance targets, but the available configuration labels are not clear enough to match each figure reliably to specific hardware.

What PC features could make it the better fit?
Unlocked frame rates and graphics options
An unlocked frame rate gives you more control than a fixed console presentation, but it does not guarantee a higher frame rate: your PC must be able to deliver it at your chosen settings. PlayStation also lists higher texture resolution, DLSS 4, and FSR 3 on PC.

Ultrawide and unusual aspect ratios
PlayStation lists aspect-ratio support from 4:5 to 32:9. That is a documented reason to favor PC if you play on an ultrawide display or use one of the listed aspect ratios. The reviewed PS5 listing does not advertise equivalent ultrawide support.
DualSense on PC
The PC version supports DualSense features, including haptics and adaptive triggers. PlayStation cautions that supported haptics, adaptive triggers, and microphone features may require USB. You can still choose another controller; DualSense is a feature option, not a PC requirement.

PlayStation’s PC Complete Edition page lists the base game, Planet Diving Suit (Captain), Fluffy Bear Pack for the Drone, Stargazer cosmetic items and in-game bonus currency, the Twin Expansion Pack (Stellar Blade x NieR:Automata and Stellar Blade x GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE), and a time-limited NIKKE mobile-game outfit key.
The US PS Store describes its PS5 Complete Edition as including the game, Digital Deluxe content, the Twin Expansion Pack, outfit key, Planet Diving Suit (Captain), and Fluffy Bear Pack. Add-ons are also listed separately. PlayStation’s PC launch announcement says launch outfits were released on PS5 as an update, but the official pages reviewed do not establish complete parity across every edition, patch, bonus, and region. Check the contents shown for the exact edition and storefront you intend to buy.
