Its published specifications include an 8-core Ryzen 7 8840HS, Radeon 780M graphics, a 7-inch 144 Hz touchscreen and storage options up to 2 TB. Those figures describe the announced hardware—not how fast games run, how long the battery lasts, or whether it outperforms a Steam Deck. Availability also depends on region and should be checked against current local listings.
What is the Acer Nitro Blaze 7?
Acer introduced the Nitro Blaze 7, model GN771, on September 4, 2024, calling it its first handheld gaming PC. It runs Windows 11 Home and is designed around a library interface called Acer Game Space, which Acer says can bring games from multiple platforms together. Acer’s announcement also mentioned three months of PC Game Pass as part of the package at the time. That offer is time- and region-sensitive; confirm current terms rather than assuming it is included today.
Acer’s announcement says: “Exact specifications, prices, and availability will vary by region.” The product’s name and headline comparisons with Steam Deck do not establish a direct performance or value ranking.
Acer Nitro Blaze 7 specifications
The following are manufacturer-published figures from Acer’s 2024 announcement, not independent test results. A specific retail configuration may differ by region.

These specifications establish the advertised panel, memory, storage ceiling, battery capacity and weight; they do not establish real-world frame rates, battery runtime, temperatures, fan noise, comfort, or game compatibility. The official IFA 2024 specification sheet and announcement give different AI TOPS figures (38 and up to 39), so that figure is omitted rather than assigned to every configuration.
What the specs mean for a buyer
Windows and game libraries
Windows 11 Home and Acer Game Space indicate a PC-style software environment with a front end intended to gather games from more than one platform. Acer has not established in these specifications that every game or storefront works seamlessly, so check the specific games and services you use. The announcement describes Game Space as a library interface, not as proof of universal compatibility.

Screen and graphics
The 1080p, 144 Hz, 500-nit display figures describe the panel’s stated resolution, refresh rate and brightness. They do not show that a particular game will render at 1080p and 144 frames per second; actual results depend on the game, settings and power conditions. The Radeon 780M is the listed integrated graphics processor, but Acer’s published specifications here are not benchmark results.
Memory, storage and expansion
Acer specifies 16 GB of onboard LPDDR5x memory and SSD options up to 2 TB. “Up to 2 TB” is a maximum option, not a promise that every GN771 listing includes that capacity. The MicroSD reader provides another stated expansion route, but the cited specifications do not identify supported card capacities, speeds, or particular card models.

Battery, weight and connectivity
The 50.04 Wh battery and 670 g weight are manufacturer figures. Battery capacity alone cannot predict play time, which varies with game workload, screen settings and power use. The two USB4 Type-C ports and supplied 65 W USB-C adapter are listed hardware details; the specifications do not establish a particular dock’s display output, charging behavior or compatibility.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the Nitro Blaze 7 a Steam Deck rival?
It is reasonable to call it a competing handheld PC, but the available Acer figures do not settle which device is better. Acer’s UK video description itself used the promotional question “Wondering if it’s a ‘Steam Deck killer’?”—that wording is not independent evidence of a win.

A fair comparison needs evidence for both devices on the same dimensions. In particular, processor and graphics labels alone cannot substitute for comparable game tests; battery claims need matched games, brightness and power settings; and ergonomics, noise and thermals require hands-on evaluation. Price, included storage and local availability also need to be checked for the exact models on sale. No such controlled comparison is established by the Blaze 7 specifications cited here.
Is the Acer Nitro Blaze 7 available?
Acer’s UK store has a listing for the GN771-08HS7, which confirms a regional product listing but does not prove current stock in the UK or availability elsewhere. Acer Corner wrote that three Nitro Blaze models were planned for Q2 2025. In January 2026, Windows Central quoted an Acer representative saying the category remained on Acer’s U.S. roadmap while local U.S. launch plans were still to be determined. These are dated statements, not a live October 2026 stock check.

Before buying, confirm the exact GN771 SKU, configuration, price, seller and stock status on Acer’s local store and reputable retailers. Acer’s UK GN771-08HS7 listing is not evidence that the same configuration is sold in another country.
Quick Recap
What to verify before choosing one
- Exact configuration: Check the listed memory and SSD capacity; Acer’s published maximum is not necessarily the specification of the available SKU.
- Local availability and terms: Confirm current stock, regional warranty and any software bundle directly with the seller. Do not assume the launch-era PC Game Pass offer still applies.
- Your games and services: Verify support for the titles, launchers and peripherals you depend on rather than treating the Windows label as a compatibility guarantee.
- Performance and portability: Look for independent tests under conditions relevant to your use, especially game performance, battery runtime, temperatures, noise and handling.
- Accessories: Acer lists a MicroSD reader and USB4 ports, but check card requirements and dock compatibility for the precise accessory before purchasing.
