Then choose separately whether to show your PlayStation online ID on your Discord profile and whether to show PlayStation as your status.
How do I link my PSN account to Discord?
You can start in Discord, PlayStation Account Management, or on a PS5. Use whichever device is already in front of you.
Link from Discord
- Open Discord on desktop, in a web browser, or on mobile.
- Go to User Settings > Connections. On some mobile versions, the label is singular: Connection.
- Select the PlayStation Network icon.
- In the authorization window, sign in with your PlayStation sign-in ID and password, then approve the connection.
- Back in Connections, choose whether to display your PlayStation online ID on your profile and whether to display PlayStation as your status. These are separate controls.
Start from PlayStation
- Online: Open PlayStation Account Management, then go to Linked Services > Discord and follow the prompts.
- PS5: Press the PS button to open the control center, then select Game Base > Discord > Link Account and follow the prompts.

What appears on Discord after linking?
Linking connects the accounts; it does not automatically mean every detail is visible. Discord offers two distinct display choices:

- Show on profile: Displays your PlayStation online ID on your Discord profile.
- Show PlayStation as your status: Displays PlayStation status and, when privacy settings allow it, the game you are playing.
Change these options in Discord under User Settings > Connections. Turning on one does not turn on the other.
Why isn’t my PlayStation status showing on Discord?
First check the PSN privacy settings for both Online Status and Now Playing. Sony and Discord say both must be set to Anyone for PlayStation activity to appear on Discord.

- On PS5, open Settings > Users and Accounts > Privacy > View and Customize Your Privacy Settings.
- Set Online Status and Now Playing visibility to Anyone.
- Check that you are not appearing offline and that the game you expect to show is not hidden.
- In Discord, return to User Settings > Connections and confirm the PlayStation connection and status display option are enabled.
On PS4, Discord documents the equivalent privacy controls under Profile and Personal Info | Messaging. If another local Discord activity is taking precedence, PlayStation activity may not be the status shown. For current platform-specific guidance, see the Discord FAQ.
Can I use Discord voice chat on PlayStation?
Discord voice chat is a PS5 feature, separate from linking accounts to share status or activity. You can join voice chat on PS5 or transfer a call from Discord on mobile or desktop. Discord says the PS5 needs the latest system software for voice chat. PlayStation does not have a standalone Discord app.

Status and activity sharing are documented for both PS4 and PS5; that does not mean voice chat is available on both consoles. Sony’s FAQ also confirms that a PlayStation Plus membership is not required for this feature.
How do I unlink PlayStation from Discord?
In Discord, open User Settings > Connections, select the X beside PlayStation, and confirm Disconnect. You can also unlink through PlayStation Account Management under Linked Services, or on PS5 through Settings > Users and Accounts > Linked Services > Discord > Unlink Account.

Who can link a PlayStation account?
The feature is available where PlayStation and Discord services are available, but access may depend on age and location for child accounts. Sony directs families to its communication and user-generated-content controls; eligibility should not be assumed for every family-managed account.
