What playing together involves
In Scenario Mode, players work through objectives and extract supplies across six maps in the Northeast Coast of the United States. The Steam listing describes an eight-player zombie shooter built around communication and sharing scarce resources. It also highlights proximity voice chat: “Find your teammates with proximity voice chat and grow together in power.”

Co-op carries risk: infection and the possible permanent loss of a Responder and that character’s individual progress are part of the game, according to its Steam description.
How to get your friends into a session
- Check access and requirements. Make sure each person can launch the game on their platform. For PC requirements, see the table below.
- Check platform compatibility. Steam lists cross-platform multiplayer, but does not enumerate supported platform combinations or account-linking steps. If you are mixing platforms, check the current in-game social interface and platform support before arranging the session.
- Invite friends through the game’s current social or party flow. The official listing confirms online co-op, but does not provide a reliable, current button-by-button invitation path.
- Confirm the group before beginning. Check that each invited friend appears in your group or session before starting.
- Coordinate once you are together. Use proximity voice chat to communicate about objectives and scarce supplies. A microphone-equipped headset can make voice chat easier to use, but a headset is optional.

The Steam listing also notes Xbox and PlayStation controller support. A controller is not required to play with friends.

A player-submitted Steam Community issue thread suggests checking the friend’s status in the social menu. If it says “playing game” rather than “in main menu,” the thread advises asking them to restart. If an invitation is visible, it suggests accepting it once, either from the notification or the social menu. This is anecdotal player advice, not an official or verified fix, and the interface may change.

If the problem persists, confirm that both players are online and can access the game’s social features, then retry the current invite flow. Check current official support information or patch notes for any continuing issue; the cited sources do not establish a universal fix.
