There is no verified universal best preset for No More Room in Hell 2. Use the game’s live graphics menu and your PC’s hardware as a starting point, then compare one change at a time in the same scene. If your system is near Steam’s recommended tier, its 1080p/60 High with Quality Super Sampling target is a reference—not a promise. For visibility, keep enough lighting, shadow, and distance detail to read the locations you play.
Start with the official PC requirements
Steam’s listing gives these hardware tiers and describes an intended experience for each. Those experience notes are targets, not guaranteed frame rates on every system.
| Tier | Processor | Memory | Graphics | Stated experience |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 | 12 GB RAM | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (4 GB), AMD Radeon RX 570 (4 GB), or Intel Arc 580 | 1080p/30 on Low with Performance Super Sampling |
| Recommended | Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 5 5500GT | 16 GB RAM | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 (8 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (8 GB) | 1080p/60 on High with Quality Super Sampling |
These are the Windows 10 64-bit requirements listed on Steam’s No More Room in Hell 2 page. If your PC is between tiers, treat the closest one as a rough starting point and tune from there; the listed target does not establish what a different GPU, resolution, driver, or scene will achieve.
Why older settings advice may no longer apply
The game left Early Access with its Armageddon 1.0 launch on August 11, 2026. Torn Banner’s August 3, 2026 performance update announced DLSS 4.5 support, including Frame Generation for RTX 4000- and 5000-series cards, and described changes to impact and gore effects. The developer also adjusted shadows, lighting, model detail, and distance rendering.

The Armageddon 1.0 notes report fixes for some geometry pop-in on Low and Medium and a blue-highlight issue in the Low graphics menu. Torn Banner later posted Resupply 1.1 notes on September 15, 2026, and its news index includes an October 1, 2026 launch-highlights post. Because graphics options and behavior can change between builds, check the version you are running and the options currently exposed in its menu.
Use a repeatable tuning process
Community and independent guides suggest trying an upscaler and reducing demanding-looking settings progressively, but they do not provide controlled comparisons establishing which option is fastest on every PC. Use their advice as troubleshooting ideas, not as a ranked preset.
#1 Best Overall
- Fearless ROG Design – The G700’s dual-glass chassis showcases iconic ROG design with the ROG Slash and Aura Sync RGB lighting. Its 58L capacity supports triple-slot GPUs.
- Unstoppable Power – Equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 7 265F processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and 1TB SSD PCIe 4.0 storage for seamless gaming and multitasking.
- Optimized Thermals – Stay cool with a quad-fan system, while dust filters and efficient airflow ensure long-term reliability.
- Advanced Connectivity – Game without lag with 2.5Gbps Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, and versatile ports. Dolby Atmos audio and AI noise cancellation enhance sound and communication.
- Ready for Upgrades – Designed with tool-less access, easily swap out components, ensuring future-proof performance for years to come.
- Record your baseline. Note your GPU, CPU, resolution, preset, upscaler and mode if available, Frame Generation state if available, driver, and game build. Choose a repeatable location or encounter and observe both smoothness and whether details remain legible. An independent settings guide recommends recording the setup and disclaims an in-house 1.0 benchmark or guaranteed FPS target.
- Choose a sensible starting quality. If your hardware is near Steam’s recommended tier, start around High and the listed Quality Super Sampling target; closer to minimum, Low and Performance Super Sampling are the stated reference. Adjust for your actual resolution and experience rather than assuming these notes guarantee a result.
- Compare an available upscaler before changing many settings. If the live menu offers a mode compatible with your hardware, test a quality-oriented option first. Then compare other available modes at the same resolution and in the same scene. The official sources cited here announce DLSS 4.5 but do not establish universal FSR or XeSS availability; do not assume either will appear on every build or PC.
- Stabilize rendered performance before judging Frame Generation. If the current menu and GPU support it, compare Frame Generation on and off only after the base frame rate and pacing are reasonably stable. Watch for perceived latency, artifacts, and uneven pacing as well as smoothness; an on/off comparison is a way to assess your system, not proof that one setting is universally better.
- For hitches, change one setting at a time. Community guides suggest testing effects and gore, shadows, foliage, and view distance progressively. Lower one by one, repeat the same encounter after each change, and keep a note of whether the hitch changed and whether scene detail became harder to read. This sequence is guide advice, not an official ranking of performance costs.
- Keep a visibility check in the loop. Revisit the same interior, outdoor route, or threat encounter after each change. If lighting, shadows, foliage, or distance detail makes objects harder to distinguish, restore the last useful level and test a different setting instead.
Balance frame rate and visibility
Lowering a setting can reduce image detail as well as workload. Torn Banner’s 1.0 update describes adjustments to lighting, shadows, model detail, and distance rendering, but the official material does not publish an exact visibility-maximizing preset or setting-by-setting image comparison. The practical approach is to preserve enough of those details for the map and display you use, then compare adjacent levels in the same scene.
When comparing options, keep resolution and location constant. Check native rendering against upscaling, compare any available upscaler modes, and test adjacent levels for effects, shadows, foliage, and view distance. Track frame pacing, perceived latency, artifacts, and whether you can still read the scene. Without a controlled comparison on your PC, no result should be treated as a universal winner.

What performance to expect
Neither Steam’s experience notes nor the developer’s optimization article guarantees a specific FPS for your system. Actual results depend on hardware, driver, resolution, scene, and game build. Torn Banner describes broad work intended for a wide range of hardware, but does not publish per-setting FPS impacts in the cited performance article. The independent guide likewise says it has no in-house 1.0 benchmark and makes no guaranteed target claim.
