Street Fighter 6 is a strong starting point if you want simplified special-move inputs and several ways to learn outside competitive matches. Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising offers simple skill inputs alongside adjustable solo difficulty and focused practice tools, while Guilty Gear -Strive- stands out for tutorial advice that adapts to your inputs and skill. None is proven universally easiest: choose the one whose style and learning tools make you want to keep playing.
How the three games compare
The clearest differences are in how each game lowers the first barrier and what it offers for learning and practice. These are documented features, not measurements of how quickly beginners improve or how well online matchmaking works for every player.

Street Fighter 6: multiple ways to get started
Choose controls to suit your comfort level
Street Fighter 6 has three control approaches. Modern reduces the execution burden for special attacks, which can let a new player focus more on movement, defense, spacing, and decisions during a match. Classic retains the six-button layout and command inputs for players who want the traditional control scheme. Dynamic is aimed at casual offline play, but it is not available throughout the game: it is restricted to certain Fighting Ground modes.
That makes Modern a useful option to try, not a shortcut past the rest of the game. Simplified inputs do not teach when to attack, how to defend, or how to respond to an opponent.

#1 Best Overall
- Classic Experience Built for a Modern Era: With all core gameplay modes present, plus two brand new modes and enhanced visuals, Street Fighter 6 redefines the classic fighting game genre.
- Distinct Fighting Styles to Master: 18 diverse characters including legendary World Warriors and exciting brand new characters add their own flair to the game at launch, with more to be added post-launch.
- Brand New Game Modes: The Street Fighter franchise continues to hone its skills and redefine the fighting genre with the introduction of three new foundational modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub.
- In-Game Commentating: Street Fighter’s first-ever Real-Time Commentary Feature, supported with subtitles in 13 languages, incorporates the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators like Vicious and Aru directly into the game to narrate what is happening on-screen just like a real tournament.
- Two New Control Schemes: Classic Controls returns alongside two brand new options: Modern Controls allow you to perform special attacks with simple button combinations and are designed for players who want to fight without memorizing and practicing special move button combinations first. Dynamic Controls only require a press of the Auto-Attack button to perform attacks and is a great control type to use when you have friends and family over for a quick, casual game.
Learn in World Tour, then consult character guides
PlayStation describes World Tour as a starting point, and Fighting Ground provides a tutorial and character guide for each character. The character-specific material gives you a place to learn the moves and inputs for someone you actually want to play, rather than treating the roster as one undifferentiated set of commands.
For a beginner who wants simplified special-move inputs and a substantial solo introduction, Street Fighter 6 is the most direct fit among these three based on the documented features.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising: simple skills with structured practice
Start with an accessible control scheme
Cygames describes Smart and Super Ultimate as accessible options alongside Manual controls. Simple skill inputs can ease the first steps, but Granblue still has deeper battle mechanics. Expect to learn more than how to activate a move: the game’s practice tools point toward timing, punishes, combos, and other situational decisions.

Build skills gradually in solo and training modes
The story introduces basics, and Arcade difficulty can be adjusted after matches. For targeted work, the game offers Situational Training, Combo Practice, frame information, character breakdowns, and Punish Training. Separate character Versus Ranks let you pursue ranks for individual fighters; Cygames also describes crossplay and rollback netcode.

Guilty Gear -Strive-: advice that responds to your play
Guilty Gear -Strive-’s tutorial offers advice adjusted to your inputs and skill, giving a beginner a suggested next step rather than only a fixed explanation. Missions and situational training provide additional ways to work through concepts, and Combo Maker includes community combos from beginner through advanced levels.
Arc System Works describes matchmaking as seeking players around your skill level. That is a design aim, not a promise that every match will be evenly matched; results can vary with region, time, and player population. The game is worth considering if its style appeals to you and you are likely to use its tutorial and practice modes. The cited feature page does not establish an equivalent simplified control option.

- Pick Street Fighter 6 if you want to try simplified special-move inputs, then learn through a solo mode, character guides, and tutorials.
- Pick Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising if simple skill inputs and a broad set of solo and training tools matter most. Check the Free Edition’s private-room restriction if that feature is central to how you plan to play online.
- Pick Guilty Gear -Strive- if you are drawn to its style and want tutorial advice tailored to your play, plus missions and situational practice.
Publisher feature descriptions do not establish which game takes the least time to learn, produces the best match quality for beginners, or leads to the greatest success. A reader’s comparison of Tekken 8 and Mortal Kombat 1 is not evidence about those games’ teaching features, so these three are the only ones compared here.
