The best DualSense alternative depends on what you want to change: choose the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro for Hall-effect sticks and triggers with an asymmetric layout, the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded for modular controls, or the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro for a competitive-focused design. The trade-off is that specialized third-party controllers may not retain DualSense features such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers; check the exact model before buying.

What you give up by leaving the DualSense
These controllers target different priorities, but a licensed PS5 controller is not automatically a DualSense feature equivalent. GamesRadar notes that third-party PS5 controllers may omit Sony’s haptic technology and adaptive triggers. Check the specifications for the specific model: Nacon explicitly lists feature losses for the Revolution 5 Pro, and TechRadar reports them for the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded.
- Haptics and vibration: Nacon says the Revolution 5 Pro has no haptic feedback and does not vibrate in PS5 games. TechRadar’s 2026 guide says the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded has no rumble.
- Adaptive triggers: Nacon says the Revolution 5 Pro does not have them; TechRadar reports the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded does not either.
- Wake-from-rest: Nacon says the Revolution 5 Pro cannot wake a PS5; only a Sony DualSense can do that.

Nacon Revolution 5 Pro: Hall-effect sticks and triggers
Nacon documents the Revolution 5 Pro as compatible with PS5, PS4 and PC. Its asymmetric stick layout, Hall-effect magnetic technology for both sticks and triggers, trigger blockers and configurable controls make it a fit for players who prioritize those adjustments over DualSense effects. Nacon describes the magnetic technology as a precision and durability feature; it should not be read as a guarantee against every form of stick drift.

Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded: modular controls
TechRadar’s 2026 guide calls the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded its most versatile controller. Its listed modular features include interchangeable stick and D-pad modules, a fightpad module, five trigger adjustment levels and four remappable paddles. The guide also identifies Hall-effect thumbsticks, making this a choice for players who want to change the physical control setup as well as remap buttons.
TechRadar reports around 20 hours of battery life. Its guide lists a price of $209.99 / £179.99; both figures are guide-reported rather than a current quote, so check local pricing and stock. The same guide says the controller lacks adaptive triggers and rumble.

Razer Wolverine V2 Pro: competitive-focused controls
Razer identifies the Wolverine V2 Pro as an officially PlayStation-licensed wireless controller for PS5 and Windows PC. TechRadar’s comparison characterizes it as competitive-focused and points to microswitches and reprogrammable paddles. Those are the publication’s assessment and feature descriptions, not hands-on findings for this article.
TechRadar also criticized its price and build feel in that comparison. Because the comparison is several years old, treat those comments as attributed review judgments—not as a current price or availability guide. The cited licensing information and comparison do not establish whether the controller retains DualSense haptics, vibration or adaptive triggers, so confirm any feature that matters before purchase.

- Decide which DualSense features you will miss. If haptics, PS5 vibration or adaptive triggers matter, verify support for the exact model rather than relying on the PlayStation license or product name.
- Choose the control layout and feel. The Nacon has an asymmetric layout; the Victrix emphasizes interchangeable modules; TechRadar positions the Razer as a competitive-focused option.
- Check the kind of customization you will actually use. Consider whether you want Hall-effect sticks or triggers, trigger stops, a fightpad, remappable rear controls or software configuration—not simply the longest feature list.
- Confirm platform and connection details. Nacon documents PS5, PS4 and PC support, but not Mac, and requires its dedicated receiver for wireless console use. Razer documents PS5 and Windows PC support. Confirm platform support for the Victrix with its current product documentation.
- Check regional price and availability. A guide-listed price can become outdated, and the cited Victrix figures are not a current local quote.
Prices and availability
No current, region-specific price or stock information is established for all three controllers. TechRadar’s 2026 guide lists the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded at $209.99 / £179.99, but that is a guide-listed figure, not a live quote. Check the manufacturer’s or retailer’s current listing in your region before deciding.
