The best LEGO set for a PlayStation fan is the officially licensed LEGO PlayStation (72306), a display model inspired by the original console and its controller. It has 1,911 pieces, is designed for adults and is listed by LEGO at $179.99 in the US. If you’re more interested in a game world than the console itself, Horizon and LEGO Fortnite offer adjacent gaming themes, but neither is a PlayStation-branded console set.
Best direct pick: LEGO PlayStation (72306)
For a fan who wants PlayStation history on a shelf, LEGO PlayStation 72306 is the clearest match: it recreates the original PlayStation console and controller as a licensed, adult-oriented display build. LEGO describes it as a near 1:1-scale model for ages 18 and up. The build includes an original-controller model; PlayStation’s announcement also describes functional Power and Open buttons, a controller that plugs into the console, and removable game dioramas that can be displayed separately. These are product descriptions, not independent hands-on findings. LEGO product page · PlayStation announcement

Who should choose it?
- Choose it if the original PlayStation console is the part of gaming history you want to celebrate.
- Measure your display space first: the finished model is 26 cm wide, 19 cm deep and 6 cm high.
- Think of it as an adult display build rather than a toy chosen for play. The cited specifications do not establish build time, hands-on build quality or durability under play.
Other LEGO options for gaming fans
There are gaming-themed alternatives if you’re shopping for someone whose favorite subject is a game rather than the PlayStation hardware. Their connection to PlayStation differs, so they are not substitutes for a direct PlayStation license.

What makes it a good gift for a PlayStation fan?
It represents the console itself rather than a particular game, making it a natural choice for someone attached to the original PlayStation. PlayStation’s announcement described it as “a piece of PlayStation history.” The model is intended for adult display, so it suits a recipient with room to show it and an interest in building a replica.
