For any verified choices, the most useful beginner questions are:
- Movement: Does the ship move faster or more slowly, and how much room does that give you to dodge?
- Shot shape: Does its attack cover a wide area or focus damage in a narrower line?
- Bomb effect: Does the bomb clear or counter bullets, damage enemies, or provide another defensive effect?
Those are comparison criteria, not confirmed descriptions of Reignite’s ships. The Reignite listing describes the game as CAVE’s bullet-hell shooter and promotes “Assist Features for New and Returning Challengers” and a new Shooting Royale mode, but does not document the roster or individual ship behavior. How do shot and bomb work?
Reignite’s reviewed official materials do not specify how its shot modes work, whether firing can be switched, or how bombs are stocked and activated. Check the in-game instructions or options for the precise behavior before building a strategy around a shot toggle or a particular bomb effect.
The older Switch release offers an example of series terminology, but it is not confirmation of Reignite’s rules. Nintendo’s description says its DoDonPachi Resurrection Bomb Style uses bombs to counter bullets while attacking across the screen; Power Style has little bomb fire and lets the player switch shot power; Strong Style combines the two. These descriptions apply to that older Switch version only. Nintendo’s older Switch product page labels the software description as publisher-provided.
What are the controls?
Use Reignite’s current in-game control display or options to confirm the buttons for shot and bomb. The official demo update says default keyboard controls were changed and fixes a controller-stick issue that could trigger Shot and Bomb switch actions. It does not publish a complete current control map, so older key-by-key instructions may be stale. Read the Reignite demo update for the changes it documents.

A PC game controller is an optional way to play if you prefer sticks or gamepad buttons; the update’s mention of controller input does not establish that any particular model is required or specifically compatible.
Is Reignite the same game as DoDonPachi Resurrection?
No: the official Steam pages are separate listings. The older DoDonPachi Resurrection listing documents three ships, three Styles, Hyper Counter, Counter Laser, and eight modes, including Novice. Those are features of the older listing, not verified Reignite features. Check the older game’s Steam listing if that is the version you own.
Likewise, Nintendo’s three aircraft and Bomb, Power, and Strong Style descriptions concern the older Switch release, not Reignite. Keep the platform and product listing in view when following a guide: a mechanic documented for one edition is not proof that another edition uses it.
