Start at Rockstar’s official GTA VI page to find Trailer 1, Trailer 2, and the Extended Look. For the best quality YouTube offers on your device, open the player’s Settings → Quality menu and choose the highest available resolution. The available options depend on both the specific video and your device, so don’t assume every GTA 6 clip has a 4K or HDR version.
Where to watch the GTA 6 trailers and gameplay
Rockstar’s GTA VI page is the most direct place to find the publisher’s videos and avoid mislabeled reposts. It currently lists both trailers and the Extended Look.
- Trailer 1: Rockstar announced it on December 5, 2023. The announcement named PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as target platforms and gave a 2025 release window; that window has since been superseded. Read Rockstar’s announcement.
- Trailer 2: Rockstar announced it on May 6, 2025, with a link to the GTA VI site. Read the announcement.
- The Extended Look: Rockstar’s August 27, 2026 update says it is now playing on Netflix and available through YouTube and the GTA VI site. See Rockstar’s update.
Netflix is not the only way to watch the Extended Look: Rockstar also lists YouTube and its own site. The current GTA VI page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and gives November 19, 2026 as the game’s release date; those details can change, so check the page for the latest listing.
How to choose the highest available YouTube quality
- Open the video from Rockstar’s official GTA VI page or another destination Rockstar names.
- In the YouTube player, open Settings → Quality and select the highest resolution shown. YouTube documents manual quality selection on computers, TVs, and mobile devices. YouTube: Change video quality.
- If the resolution you want is missing, check the video’s other official destination or try a device or app that supports the format. YouTube notes that some high-quality formats, including 4K, are not available on every device.
- Let playback load before judging sharpness. This is a practical tip, not a guarantee that a higher-resolution option will appear.
For a GTA 6 video to display in 4K, the source video and the full playback chain must support high-resolution playback. A 4K screen cannot add detail absent from the stream. PlayStation explains how to enable 4K and adjust PS5 video output, but its guidance does not establish that a particular GTA VI upload is offered in 4K. PlayStation: PS5 4K resolution guide.

Does the Extended Look require a PS5 to watch?
No. Rockstar describes the Extended Look as “Captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5.” That tells you how the footage was captured; it does not mean viewers need a PS5 to stream the published video. It also does not specify the resolution, HDR format, or frame rate of every online version.

| Destination | Access and quality considerations |
|---|---|
| Rockstar’s GTA VI site | Lists Trailer 1, Trailer 2, and the Extended Look. Available resolution is not stated on the page; use the linked player’s quality settings. |
| YouTube | Rockstar lists it as a destination for the Extended Look. You can select from the quality options shown, which vary by video and device. A Netflix subscription is not required to use this option. |
| Netflix | Rockstar lists it as a destination for the Extended Look. Whether it is convenient depends on whether you already have access; the available resolution for this video is not stated in Rockstar’s update. |
No published controlled comparison establishes that one of these services always provides better quality than the others. On a large screen, high resolution may be more noticeable, but the source video and playback device still determine what you can actually watch.
