A useful Legend of Kingdoms tier list is a shortlist, not a universal answer: choose heroes for the roles, skills, faction synergies and content your team needs. The latest tier list located is Pocket Gamer’s editorial snapshot for version 1.0.17, updated September 2, 2026—not an official ranking.
What the tier list can—and can’t—tell you
Pocket Gamer’s Legend of Kingdoms tier list groups heroes into S+, S, A, B and C tiers. Its placements and character descriptions are the publisher’s assessments. The game’s Google Play listing describes more than 44 fighters across four factions, each with unique skills, but does not rank them. No official hero ranking or controlled, mode-by-mode performance tests are established by the available sources.
That distinction matters: a tier label can help you prioritize heroes to consider, but it cannot show that a hero is best for every formation, stage or fight. Treat the list as a starting point, then check whether a hero solves a problem your current team actually has.
How to evaluate heroes for your team
1. Fill the role your lineup lacks
Start with what the fight demands. Pocket Gamer recommends having at least one support and one front-line hero. From there, add damage or control that fits the encounter rather than stacking high-tier damage dealers while leaving the team exposed or without support.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute#1 Best Overall
- Embark on an epic adventure across the land and skies of Hyrule with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition.
- Includes motion controls, HD rumble, built-in amiibo functionality*, charging cable (USB-C to USB-A), and more.
- Front line: absorbs pressure and gives the rest of the formation room to act.
- Support: helps sustain the team, and may bring control as well as healing.
- Damage: contributes the output needed to defeat enemies efficiently.
- Control: disrupts or limits opponents, where a hero’s skills offer that utility.
2. Read the skills, not just the tier
Compare what a hero’s skills contribute in practice: damage, survivability, healing or crowd control. Pocket Gamer describes Demon Lu Bu – Feng Xian as a damage dealer and front-line hero who can become invincible; Demon Diao Chan – Bi Yue as a high-damage Assassin with self-healing and bleed; and Saint Da Qiao as a healing and support option with crowd control. These are examples from Pocket Gamer’s commentary, not independently verified performance results.
A hero who combines a needed role with useful secondary effects may fit your formation better than a higher-ranked hero whose skills duplicate what you already have.

3. Check faction and formation synergy
The Google Play listing identifies faction bonuses and formations as core team-building features. When comparing two candidates, consider how each fits the rest of your lineup and whether its faction and placement support the team you are building. A tier label alone does not account for those combinations.
4. Judge the hero in the content you play
A hero’s usefulness may depend on the fight and your progression stage. An older community tier list separated early-to-mid-game, late-game and boss-focused perspectives, and noted that faction matchups, luck and timing could affect results. That list is historical, not current placement evidence, but its distinctions are a useful reminder to ask where you need the hero to perform.

Pocket Gamer also advises adapting team recommendations to the heroes a player owns, using gear according to its stats and timing skills against bosses. A recommendation for one lineup or encounter should not automatically be treated as the right choice for another.
5. Weigh investment and flexibility
Legend of Kingdoms’ Google Play listing describes a fighter rebirth function that returns resources spent on fighters. The listing says, “Never be afraid of training your heroes wrongly as a newbie here.” That is developer-provided store copy rather than independent testing; check the game’s current mechanics before relying on rebirth to reverse an investment.

How to use a tier list without following it blindly
- Confirm the list’s date and version. Pocket Gamer’s located list is marked version 1.0.17 and updated September 2, 2026. Check that the game and guide are still current when you use it.
- Shortlist candidates from the tiers. Use placements to identify heroes worth considering, not as a command to replace your existing team.
- Identify your lineup’s missing job. Decide whether you need a front-line hero, support, damage or control for the content you are tackling.
- Compare skills and team fit. Consider faction bonuses, formation and the hero’s actual contribution to your lineup.
- Reassess for the encounter. Adjust for the mode, boss, gear and skill timing instead of assuming one team is optimal everywhere.
