No—not on the evidence Sony has published. A controller sends inputs; it does not run a console game. Sony’s current compatibility information describes DualSense as a controller for PS5 and supported devices, but does not establish PS6-game support or an officially named “DualSense 2.0.”
Why a controller cannot replace a PS6
Console games need a device that runs the game. A controller is an input device: it sends commands to a compatible console or other supported host. It cannot, by itself, execute a PS6 game. Using a controller with a PC, phone, or tablet would not make that device run a PS6 console game.
Remote Play does not change this distinction. PlayStation Direct describes it as streaming games from a PS4 or PS5 console to a supported device. The host console still runs the game; the controller is used to control it.
What Sony documents about DualSense compatibility
Sony describes the DualSense wireless controller as a PS5 controller and lists PC, Mac, and mobile devices among its supported connections. The compatibility information on Sony’s product page does not list PS6: Sony’s DualSense product page.

PlayStation Direct likewise lists compatibility with a PS5 console, PC, Mac, and mobile devices, and explains Remote Play as streaming from a PS4 or PS5 console: PlayStation Direct’s DualSense listing.
Sony’s support page says, “PS5 games can only be played with DualSense wireless controllers.” That statement is specifically about PS5 games; it does not promise that DualSense will work with PS6 games: Sony’s PS5 game compatibility page.

Is “DualSense 2.0” an official controller?
The official Sony sources cited here do not establish a product formally named “DualSense 2.0,” nor do they confirm PS6 compatibility for DualSense. Treat both the controller name and any claim that it can play PS6 games as unverified unless Sony publishes confirmation. A search that finds no official announcement is not proof that Sony will never announce one.

When official PS6 information becomes available, check Sony’s compatibility documentation for the console, games, and controllers. In particular, look for whether a controller is supported with PS6 games and whether those games run on a PS6 console or are streamed from a supported host. Until then, buying a current DualSense on the assumption that it will work with PS6 games is not supported by Sony’s published compatibility information.
