First, confirm that you launched an edition of GTA Online that supports Hao’s Special Works (HSW), then identify what is missing: the LS Car Meet upgrade service, Hao’s introduction, or the HSW Time Trial. Rockstar lists HSW content for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and GTAV Enhanced on PC. On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, completing Hao’s Intro Race is no longer required to access HSW upgrades; a separate Rockstar patch also fixed a bug that could hide the Time Trial.
1. Check whether your GTA Online edition supports HSW
HSW is tied to the game edition, not just to owning GTA Online on any platform. Rockstar’s 2026 update notes identify HSW content on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and GTAV Enhanced on PC. If you are playing on PS4, Xbox One, or PC Legacy, first verify which edition you launched; the cited current notes do not list those editions as HSW-supported.

On PC, distinguish GTAV Enhanced from GTAV Legacy. The update notes confirm HSW content for Enhanced, but that alone does not establish every PC-specific unlock trigger.
2. Identify exactly what is not appearing
“HSW not appearing” can describe three different things. Check which one matches your issue before trying an unlock step:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors#1 Best Overall
- STUNNING VISUALS — Enhanced levels of fidelity and performance with new graphics modes featuring up to 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, HDR options, ray tracing, improved texture quality, and more
- FASTER LOADING — Quicker access to the action as the world of Los Santos and Blaine County load in faster than ever before.
- ADAPTIVE TRIGGERS AND HAPTIC FEEDBACK — Feel every moment through the DualSense controller, from directional damage to weather effects, rough road surfaces to explosions, and more.
- TEMPEST 3D AUDIO — Hear the sounds of the world with pinpoint precision: the throttle of a stolen supercar, the rattle of neighbouring gunfire, the roar of a helicopter overhead, and more.
- Please note that although this game is Region Free or Region Unlocked and will work on all systems, this is the European version and may differ from the local version in age rating, labeling or instructions.
- HSW Upgrade Service or mods: Look for the service at the LS Car Meet. The current Intro Race rule cited by Rockstar applies specifically to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Hao’s call or introductory activity: Rockstar’s cited update notes do not provide a universal reset or account-specific fix for a missing call or prompt.
- HSW Time Trial: This is a map activity, separate from the LS Car Meet’s upgrade service. Rockstar documented a past bug that prevented the trial from appearing for players who had not completed it.
3. If the LS Car Meet’s HSW service is missing
On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, do not treat the Intro Race as a current prerequisite. In its Title Update 1.64 notes, Rockstar said players no longer need to complete Hao’s Intro Race to access the HSW Upgrade Service and mods on those two consoles.
The note is explicitly limited to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar’s cited material confirms HSW content on GTAV Enhanced for PC, but does not settle whether PC players have the same Intro Race or call trigger. Avoid applying the console-specific change to PC as if Rockstar had confirmed it there.

- Play golf, tennis, see a film or call someone and just hang out.
4. If the HSW Time Trial is missing
- Update GTA Online. Install the latest available game update for your platform before troubleshooting. Rockstar’s Title Update 1.69 notes record a fix for an issue where the HSW Time Trial did not appear for players who had not completed it.
- Check the map again after updating. The patch note establishes that Rockstar fixed the visibility bug; it does not guarantee that updating resolves every missing-trial case.
Rockstar’s note does not prescribe a map-setting change, cache-clearing procedure, or manual reset for this issue, so those should not be presented as official fixes.

When you are on a supported, up-to-date edition and the relevant HSW feature still does not appear, gather the details that distinguish the cases: your platform, the exact edition (especially on PC), and whether the missing item is the upgrade service, Hao’s introduction, or the Time Trial. The cited Rockstar records do not identify individual account-state causes or offer a universal reset procedure, so avoid deleting data or repeating unlock steps without a platform-specific reason.
