Which factions are in Battlefield 6?
EA describes Battlefield 6 multiplayer as a conflict between two teams: NATO and Pax Armata. They represent different kinds of organizations—a military alliance and a private military corporation.

What is NATO’s role?
Battlefield 6’s fictional setting begins in 2027, after an assassination destabilizes the world and major European countries leave NATO. EA frames the United States, the United Kingdom, and Egypt as forces defending what is left of the alliance. The game’s overview does not establish that these are the only NATO-aligned countries in its wider lore.

What is Pax Armata?
Pax Armata is not a country or a conventional national army. EA describes it as a large private military corporation with substantial resources and advanced technology, able to operate without government red tape. In the story, it aims to capitalize on the crisis and challenge the United States’ position as the leading superpower. EA’s overview does not provide a roster of Pax Armata member countries.
Are Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer factions?
No. NATO and Pax Armata are the opposing teams; Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer are the four player classes. A class describes a soldier’s gameplay role, including its training, signature weapon, and gadgets. The faction describes which side a multiplayer team represents. EA lists the four classes in its multiplayer reveal.

How do the factions relate to the campaign?
The campaign and multiplayer share the NATO–Pax Armata conflict, but they are presented differently. EA’s launch announcement describes a nine-mission campaign following Dagger 13, an elite U.S. Marine Raiders unit, as it takes the fight to Pax Armata. It does not describe the campaign as a selectable NATO-versus-Pax Armata team mode. Multiplayer, by contrast, is framed around players being placed on one of the two opposing teams. Is Battlefield 2025 the same as Battlefield 6?
“Battlefield 2025” refers to the game’s release year, not the year in which its story takes place. EA announced that Battlefield 6 launched on October 10, 2025; its official world overview sets the fiction in 2027. For faction and setting details, Battlefield 6 is the more precise name to use.

Does REDSEC use the same faction setup?
REDSEC is a separate free-to-play Battlefield experience that EA said could be played without owning Battlefield 6. Its Battle Royale uses the core Battlefield classes with adjustments for that mode. That does not establish that every standard Battlefield 6 multiplayer faction detail applies identically in REDSEC. EA’s October 28, 2025 REDSEC announcement describes the experience at launch.
