If a PS2 game is missing from ORBIT, check the library filter, USB drive, and ISO folder. If the game appears but has no save icon, check which memory card is selected for that game and whether it contains a save for that title. These are diagnostic checks, not guaranteed repairs: ORBIT’s 2026-10-04 v1.0 announcement does not document a specific refresh or recovery procedure.
First, identify what is missing
ORBIT is the PS2 console launcher, not OrbitPS2 Manager, a separate desktop tool for managing OPL collections. A missing game entry and a missing save icon have different likely causes:
- The game itself is absent: start with the library view and USB/ISO setup.
- The game is listed but its save icon is absent: check the memory card selected for that game and whether the expected save is on it.
ORBIT’s announcement describes library views named All, PS2, PS1, and Apps. It also says the launcher shows a 3D icon from the newest save it reads for each game; that is not the game’s cover image. ORBIT’s v1.0 announcement is a developer source describing a real-hardware setup, not an independently tested troubleshooting manual.
If a PS2 game is missing from the library
Check the active library view
Look at the current filter and compare it with the entry you expect. Try All or PS2 for a PS2 game; PS1 and Apps are separate views in the announcement. A filter mismatch can make an entry seem absent without indicating a drive problem.

Verify the USB and ISO location
ORBIT’s documented setup uses a FAT32 or exFAT USB drive, with PS2 ISO files in a folder named DVD/. Confirm the expected drive is connected and that the game files are in that folder. The announcement also describes launching launcher.elf through uLaunchELF or FreeMcBoot autoboot; if ORBIT launches but the library is empty, first check the drive and folder rather than changing launch method.
Inspect ORBIT’s configuration
On first boot, ORBIT writes a commented config.ini containing its settings. Inspect that file for library or device settings relevant to your setup. The announcement does not identify exact setting names for a missing-game issue, so do not assume a particular value or edit is the fix.

If the game is listed but its save icon is missing
Check the card selected for that game
ORBIT says a physical memory card or a virtual memory card can be selected per game. Determine which one is selected for the affected title. Then use an appropriate memory-card browser or console interface to confirm that the card actually contains a save for that game. If the expected save is on a different card, the selected card may not provide an icon for it.
Understand what the icon represents
The icon is based on the newest save ORBIT reads from the memory card for that game. A game can therefore appear in the library without a relevant save icon—for example, if there is no save for that title on the selected card. The announcement does not explain how ORBIT decides a save belongs to a game or what it displays when reading the card fails.

- TWO SEPARATE 128 MB BANKS, NOT ONE POOL OF 256 MB: The selector on the front of the card chooses which bank the console talks to, and each bank is its own storage area with its own save list. Nothing spans the two, so a file written on one side is invisible from the other. Set the selector first and then turn the console on, because the console reads the position once at start-up and does not look again.
- BUILT FOR PS2 AND FOR THE SLIM, AND FOR NOTHING ELSE: It drops into the memory card slot made for PS2, on every revision from the first SCPH-10000 through to the 90000 series, fat or slim. It is not for the PS One, not for the PSX, and not for a fat PS3 running a disc in backward compatible mode. Those machines use a different card and will not read this one.
- IT IS A STORAGE CARD, AND IT WILL NOT RUN FREEMCBOOT: If the plan is to install a homebrew launcher, this is the wrong card and no amount of formatting will change that. What it does do is hold save files, and a lot of them, which is the job most people actually need a second card for.
- NO BOOT DISC, NO DRIVERS, NOTHING TO INSTALL: Push it into the slot and the console lists it straight away. Save sizes vary by title, and the back of a game case usually prints how many kilobytes a save needs, so you can work out how far one bank will go before you fill it.
- WHAT ARRIVES IS ONE BLACK CARD, 5.6 BY 4.1 BY 0.6 CM: Two habits keep a save file intact on any card of this kind: leave the console powered down while the card goes in or comes out, and do not cut the power while a title is writing.
Do not erase the card as a troubleshooting shortcut
If the selected card contains the expected save but ORBIT still shows no icon, the available ORBIT documentation does not establish a refresh button, cache-reset procedure, supported card formats, or a repair sequence. Do not delete saves or reformat the card based on this information. Check the current ORBIT guide or project support material for instructions specific to your build before making changes.

Open PS2 Loader (OPL) has its own conventions: its documentation describes folders such as ART for artwork, VMC for virtual memory-card images, and CFG for per-game configuration. OPL also has display settings for artwork and storage devices. Those details apply to OPL; they are not evidence that ORBIT uses the same folders, options, or controls. If you are configuring OPL as well, consult its documentation for folder structure, per-game settings, and display options.
