For a North Dakota State (NDSU) game against a Mountain West opponent, check the Mountain West Availability Reporting page and open the football report for that game. The conference says it posts an update before gameday and a final report before kickoff, so check again close to the start. For a nonconference game, check NDSU’s official game and team channels; if they do not confirm a player’s status, treat it as unconfirmed.
Find the report for the specific game
- Confirm the opponent and date. Check NDSU’s official football schedule and open the relevant game center.
- If it is a Mountain West game, check the conference report. Visit the Availability Reporting page and locate the football report for the relevant game or week. The Mountain West football reports hub is another route to the football reporting area.
- Check close to kickoff. The conference says reports receive a pre-gameday update and a final gameday report before kickoff. An earlier listing may not reflect the latest status.
- If it is a nonconference game, check NDSU’s official channels. Look at the NDSU football page, the game center, team news and press-conference materials for an explicit update.
Which reporting system applies?
| Game type | Where to check | What the reporting scope establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Mountain West regular-season game or conference championship | Mountain West Availability Reporting | The conference says public player availability reports apply to these games, with a pre-gameday update and a final report before kickoff. |
| NDSU nonconference game | NDSU football page and the official game center | The Mountain West policy does not establish coverage for every NDSU nonconference game. The reviewed NDSU page does not promise a complete injury list for every such game. |
| College Football Playoff game | CFP availability reports | A separate postseason system applies to participating schools: reports begin three days before a game, update daily and have a final report 90 minutes before kickoff. |
What an availability report does—and does not—tell you
NDSU joined the Mountain West for football in 2026, making the conference report the relevant public channel for Bison conference games. The league’s policy covers regular-season conference games and the Mountain West Championship; it does not establish that the same reporting system covers every nonconference matchup. See the NDSU announcement about joining the Mountain West.
An availability designation is about whether a student-athlete is available to participate. It does not, by itself, reveal a medical diagnosis, injury severity or expected recovery. Use the status as published, and include a reason or diagnosis only if NDSU or another authoritative source has disclosed it.
When no status is posted
If an official report is missing, silent or out of date, the player’s status is unconfirmed—not proof that the player is available or unavailable. For nonconference games in particular, the reviewed official channels do not guarantee a complete injury report. Do not treat a depth chart, social-media speculation, betting discussion, practice observation, game participation record or a coach’s general remarks as confirmation of current game status.
