For a new Wartune Ultra account, start with the in-game Beginner Guide and its challenge quests, then focus on upgrades whose requirements and resource costs you can meet now. Gold supports several progression systems, while equipment, Sylphs, weapons, and other stat layers each use their own unlocks and materials. There is no verified universal spending order: use the current in-game screens to decide what to upgrade, and treat older patch-note requirements as historical guidance rather than a guarantee of today’s unlocks.
Start with the Beginner Guide and challenge quests
The most dependable starting checklist is the game’s own Beginner Guide. The official V2.5 update notes, dated April 14, 2025, say the guide explains content and its requirements; completing the corresponding feature challenges lets you claim quest rewards. Follow the challenges for features available to your character instead of assuming an old walkthrough’s sequence applies to every server or version. Official Wartune Ultra update notes.
As new systems appear, check their feature screen for the unlock condition, required materials, and the result of an upgrade before committing scarce resources. Official update notes describe mechanics and prerequisites, but do not establish an optimal beginner build or a universal ranking of upgrades.
Understand the currencies you can verify
Gold
Gold is a foundational resource. The V2.5 treasury update says displayed Gold production includes sources such as gold mines, veins, and skill bonuses. Later, V3.8 (April 6, 2026) added level 120 and level 160 gold mines, showing that mine access expands as characters progress. These are patch-specific feature details, so check the current treasury and mine screens for what is available to you. Official Wartune Ultra update notes.

Bound Balens and Star Coins
The V4.0 notes (June 22, 2026) say Bound Balens can speed crop growth. The official recharge page describes Star Coins as exchangeable for in-game items, including Balens, and warns that purchased items are non-refundable. These details establish that paid currency flows exist; they do not show that spending is necessary or that an offer is good value. Availability may vary by region and time. The cited official material does not provide a complete, current glossary of currencies, a full list of free sources, or a recommended spend order. Before spending a limited currency, inspect the specific feature’s shop or upgrade screen and compare its cost with the benefit shown there.
Follow gear systems as they unlock
Equipment progression is a chain of separate systems, not one universal upgrade button. The levels and requirements below come from official historical patch notes; use them as milestones to recognize, then confirm current requirements in-game.

Class Mastery, Domain, and Holy Forge
The V2.1.1 notes (November 4, 2024) list Class Mastery and Domain as level 55 features. Class Mastery uses Codexes, Dragonchant Codexes, and Codex Pages, and introduces six Amulets as Codexes level up. Domain rewards Codex Pages and Amulet materials.
The same notes describe Holy Forge for level 80 orange equipment, using Vulcan’s Hammer, Vulcan’s Stove, and Gold. They also describe advancing level 80 orange equipment to red Epic Equipment with Titan Iron and Titan Stone Shards. These are later-game systems; do not spend specialized materials simply because they are in your inventory. Wait until the relevant interface is available and shows the upgrade you intend to make. Class advancement
V3.5 (September 22, 2025) says players can complete class advancement missions at level 80; after advancement, the stated level cap becomes 160. The update describes additional combat attributes, advanced equipment, emblems, and skills. Reaching the milestone does not mean every listed item or material becomes immediately available, so follow the missions and newly unlocked feature prompts. Official V3.5 update notes.

Sylph equipment and Double Type Sylph
V3.7 (January 19, 2026) describes upgrading SSS Rank Sylph Equipment that has been fully enhanced to level 80 into EX Rank equipment. EX Rank raises the maximum equipment level to 90 and allows an upgrade affix choice. The notes expand the relevant Sylph Campaign stages, Storm Temple and Temple of Ris, to stage 56 and say they award EX Rank Essence. Check that the equipment and campaign requirements are met before planning around this upgrade. Official V3.7 update notes.
V3.8 (April 6, 2026) lists Double Type Sylph at character level 81. That is a patch-stated unlock, not evidence that every account currently has identical access or requirements. Official V3.8 update notes.

Clothing and Soul Engraving
The official inventory guide says successful clothing identification consumes Gold and grants permanent attributes. Soul Engraving consumes Soul Crystals and enhances the effect of gems socketed on equipment. The guide explains what these systems do, but does not quantify their efficiency against other upgrades; compare the displayed cost and stat change in your own build. Official inventory guide.
Battle Pass and Sky Trail
V4.0 adds Season S1 and a Battle Pass. Daily and season quests grant Battle Pass EXP toward basic rewards; purchasing the Season Battle Pass unlocks premium rewards. The same update says Sky Trail can blitz cleared stages using energy, and blitzing also increases incomplete exploration progress. These are specific activity and reward routes, not a general gear-upgrade priority. Official V4.0 update notes.

Choose an upgrade by checking its prerequisites and payoff
The official descriptions establish different routes, but do not publish an objective beginner ranking. When deciding what to work on, compare these points in the feature screen:
- Unlock: character level, equipment level or rank, campaign stage, or another stated prerequisite.
- Cost and source: the required resource and whether its repeatable source is currently accessible to you.
- Scope: whether the benefit applies to character equipment, Sylph equipment, a weapon assigned to one character or guard, a passive stat layer, or seasonal rewards.
- Immediate result: the attributes or other effect shown for the cost.
No single comparison proves which upgrade is best for every account; your available systems, materials, and current build determine the practical choice.
Check current version details in-game
Official update history is versioned: the cited features span V2.1.1 through V4.0. The official site lists V4.1 dated August 17, 2026, and a Wilds Exploration guide dated August 6, 2026. Event rotations, offers, and feature requirements can change; confirm unlocks and timing in the live game rather than treating an earlier patch note as a current promise.
