Neither Exynos nor Snapdragon is a universal winner in Galaxy phones: the result depends on the exact generation, model, region and workload. In the Galaxy S26 comparisons reviewed in 2026, Snapdragon led some short CPU and graphics tests, while Exynos matched or edged it in some sustained graphics results. Battery findings also differ by generation: one reported S26 drain test favored Snapdragon, while an Android Authority comparison of the Galaxy S24 found better battery life on Exynos.
Why the exact Galaxy model and region matter
“Exynos vs Snapdragon Galaxy phones” is not one fixed comparison. Samsung has sold different processor versions of some Galaxy generations in different markets, and results from one generation do not establish which chip will be faster or last longer in another.
Samsung’s 2026 interim report lists the Galaxy S24 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400, and the Galaxy S25 series with Snapdragon 8 Elite. Reporting on the Galaxy S26 describes regional S26 and S26+ models with either Exynos 2600 or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy; the S26 Ultra is reported with Snapdragon. The precise configuration is a market and model detail, so check the processor listed for the specific phone and region rather than assuming all models in a series share a chip.
Does Snapdragon perform better than Exynos in games?
Not across every game or graphics test. In Android Authority’s 2026 comparison of Galaxy S26 devices, Snapdragon scored 25% higher in the short 3DMark Wild Life Extreme rasterization result. But in that test’s stress run, Exynos had the higher sustainability result: 74.9% versus 53.8% for Snapdragon. After about nine minutes, the results converged, with Exynos marginally ahead in the final quarter. In the Solar Bay ray-tracing test, Android Authority described the chips as essentially tied; Exynos maintained peak scores for three runs, while Snapdragon did so for one.

These results describe particular reviewer tests, not guaranteed performance in every game. Game settings, software, phone size and cooling can affect what a player experiences. They also show why a brief benchmark score and performance during a longer gaming session should not be treated as interchangeable.
Tom’s Guide’s 2026 results add another model-level wrinkle. In its Geekbench 6.6 tests, the Exynos S26 led the Snapdragon S26 in multi-core, while the Snapdragon S26+ narrowly led the Exynos S26+ there. In 3DMark Wild Life Unlimited, the Snapdragon S26+ scored highest, but the Exynos S26 and S26+ each scored above the Snapdragon S26. The table reports the scores for each tested phone; it is not a controlled chip-only ranking.

Scores are Tom’s Guide’s 2026 results for the named S26 and S26+ variants. Because both the phone model and processor vary across the comparison, these figures should not be pooled as if the chip were the only difference.
In Android Authority’s separate Galaxy S26 Geekbench comparison, Snapdragon had a reported 16% single-core lead, while multi-core results differed by only 1%. That points to a stronger short single-core result for Snapdragon in that comparison, not a blanket claim that every app or game will run better. As Android Authority reviewer Robert Triggs put it, “Snapdragon’s custom CPU and GPU are faster, but Exynos can match it in places.” The workload-specific results are the important qualification.

Does Exynos or Snapdragon have better battery life?
The answer changes by generation and test. For the S26, SamMobile relayed a side-by-side battery-drain test conducted by Android Addicts. The test ran a sequence of calls, video calls, streaming and social apps, 4K 30fps recording, Maps navigation and 3DMark gaming. The Exynos S26 lasted 6 hours 48 minutes; the Snapdragon version lasted 9 hours 26 minutes, a difference of 2 hours 38 minutes in that run. This is a reported video test, not a controlled laboratory measurement or a promise of typical-use battery life.
The earlier Galaxy S24 comparison went the other way. Android Authority compared regular S24 phones with Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, keeping battery capacity and display specifications consistent. Its testing suggested Exynos could last longer in common workloads, even though Snapdragon had a performance edge. That 2024 result applies to the tested S24 variants; it cannot establish the S26 outcome or a permanent advantage for either processor family.

Battery endurance in real use depends on more than the processor label: the phone model, display use, signal conditions, apps and workload all matter. Samsung’s corporate platform report identifies chip configurations but does not provide a matched official battery-life comparison between the chips.

The available S26 observations do not establish a consistent chip-only temperature winner. Android Authority’s June 2026 gaming coverage said its Exynos S26+ became “rather warm” after one Asphalt Legends race. That is a reviewer’s qualitative observation from one gaming session, not a standardized surface-temperature measurement.

Android Authority also observed that Exynos appeared to warm more quickly during a Wild Life stress run. However, the S26 Ultra has a better cooling setup, and it is a different model from the standard S26 and S26+ used in relevant comparisons. Chassis and cooling differences complicate any attempt to attribute warmth to the processor alone. No directly comparable official Samsung or Qualcomm exterior-temperature series is established by the cited material.
How to choose between Exynos and Snapdragon versions
For gaming, compare the actual regional phones you could buy, not just processor names. A useful comparison should identify:
- the exact Galaxy generation and model, such as S26 or S26+;
- the region or SKU and the processor in that particular listing;
- the benchmark and software version, or the game and settings used;
- whether the result is a short run or a sustained test, and how long it ran;
- the battery test’s workload and conditions; and
- differences in phone size or cooling that could affect heat and sustained speed.
If you are choosing between listings, also compare their current prices and confirm the processor shown for each one. Regional chip availability can vary, and the evidence above does not establish current stock or pricing.
