To find outfit dyes in Ghost of Yōtei, check dye houses and regional merchants as you explore; after finishing the main story, start New Game+ to earn Ghost Flowers for a separate vendor’s cosmetics. If you have patch v2.0 installed, you can also keep one armor set’s appearance while using another set’s stats.
Where to find dyes during the story
Look for dye houses and regional merchants while progressing through the game. A game guide reports that dye houses recolor weapons and armor, while merchants in regional hubs also sell cosmetic options. Stock and availability can vary, so check vendors as you reach new areas rather than assuming one shop has every dye.

Black Dye House has a quest-related stock limit
A guide reports that the Black Dye House’s wares are limited until you complete the main quest “The Way of the Shamisen.” If its selection seems sparse, check your quest progress and return after completing that mission. Unlock more cosmetics with New Game+
New Game+ becomes available from the title screen after you finish the main story. It carries over gear, upgrades, cosmetics, resources, and collectibles. Its objectives can be replayed for Ghost Flowers, which you exchange with a new vendor for additional cosmetics, charms, and two armor sets. Use one armor set’s appearance with another set’s stats
Patch v2.0 adds an option to keep one armor set’s appearance while using another set’s stats. The feature is useful when you prefer a particular look but want the gameplay benefits of different armor. The official announcement confirms the option but does not give a menu path or control sequence, so check the installed game’s armor or appearance menus rather than relying on an unverified button guide. Expansion and edition-specific dyes
The Echoes of Sekigahara expansion adds armor and dyes. It is included in the Complete Edition or available through the Complete Edition Upgrade, according to Sucker Punch’s patch announcement. Separately, PlayStation lists Digital Deluxe Armor Dye with the Complete Edition; the original Digital Deluxe Edition was described as including an alternate dye for the starting armor. - Still on your first playthrough: Check dye houses and regional merchants as you explore; revisit the Black Dye House after “The Way of the Shamisen” if its stock is limited.
- Finished the main story: Select New Game+ from the title screen, complete objectives for Ghost Flowers, and spend them at the new vendor.
- Want a different look without changing armor stats: Install patch v2.0 and use its appearance/stat option.
- Looking for expansion cosmetics: Check whether you have access to Echoes of Sekigahara through the Complete Edition or Complete Edition Upgrade.
