For smoother motion, start with Performance Mode; for the sharpest reported docked resolution, choose Quality Mode. Nintendo Life’s 15 September 2026 report, citing Blizzard’s Switch 2 FAQ, lists targets of 40 fps for Performance and 30 fps for Quality. These are reported targets, not independent measurements or guarantees for every scene.
Which graphics mode should you use?
The choice depends on whether you value a higher frame-rate target or a higher resolution. Handheld play lists the same resolution for both modes, while docked Quality Mode targets a higher resolution than docked Performance Mode.

The figures are reported by Nintendo Life, which attributes them to Blizzard’s official forum FAQ. They are not results from an independent test, and the available sources do not provide measured image-quality comparisons. The 120 Hz-or-higher display condition applies to docked Performance Mode; it is not stated as a requirement for handheld play or Quality Mode.
How can you make Diablo IV easier to read?
Try entity outlines
Blizzard’s general Diablo IV accessibility guide describes player and item highlighting: players, enemies, objects, and NPCs can be outlined in a color chosen by the player. If combat visuals blend together, try a color you can distinguish clearly from the environment. This is the most directly relevant visual option described in the guide.

Blizzard’s guide describes more than 50 individual accessibility features, including a screen reader for in-game menu text, adjustable screen-reader voice volume, speed, and type, and audio cues that help locate dropped gear and can be configured by rarity. It also describes button remapping, a skill toggle, action-wheel activation options, and the ability to swap left and right sticks.
The guide covers Diablo IV generally; it does not establish the Switch 2 menu path or confirm that each feature is present with the same label and availability in this edition. Treat these as options to check in-game, not guaranteed Switch 2 settings.

What should you know before installing?
The game is available on Switch 2 as the Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection, which Nintendo says includes the base game, Vessel of Hatred, and Lord of Hatred. Nintendo UK lists 15 September 2026 as the release date. Its listing gives a 69.4 GB download size; that is a UK store figure and may vary by region or after updates.
- Online setup: Nintendo UK says an internet connection and Battle.net account are required to play.
- Storage: Nintendo says sufficient storage is required and that additional storage may be needed depending on hardware model and use.
